How to track Santa

With only two more sleeps until the start of December, Christmas is almost upon us. And we all know what that means, Santa Claus is coming to town!

To celebrate the festive spirit, why not help your grandchildren, or any youngster you know, track Santa’s gift-giving journey across the globe?

Every year, Google teams up with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to follow the man in the red suit’s expedition around the world. Using your computer you can see Santa’s current location and next stop on a Google Map. There are also video icons to watch the “Santa Cam” and gift icons so children can learn more about each city.

Want to take it a step further? The Google Earth plug-in allows you to watch Santa fly as he steers his sleigh right on the webpage. Make sure you’ve downloaded the plug-in if you want to use this feature though!

Starting 1 December, you can track Santa by visiting the NORAD website.

Too young to track Santa? Why not get them to write a good old-fashioned letter to him or, for the more technology savvy, an electronic one.

Australia Post works with Santa, and his elves, at Christmas to make sure children receive a reply to their letter. With a range of letter templates to download and print, they also show you how to address the envelope!

What gets me is that they tell you to look at such 7 such web site but then say you need an app to tack him. Please tell me what I am supposed to do with an app??? I know I should know but as I use an ordinary computer I am afraid I do not really understand them.
