Frequently asked Questions
NOTE: You will need an email address to become a member and use the YOURLifeChoices Meeting Place website.
1. How do I log in?
- Go to the home page.
- Enter your user name and password.
- Click 'login'.
2. How do I register as a new member?
- Go to the home page.
- Click on 'click here to register as a new member'.
- Fill in the form, including making up a user name and password.
- Read the terms of service and click the 'I agree to terms of service' box.
- Click submit.
- You are now ready to use the meeting place functions, including setting up your profile by clicking 'create your profile'.
3. What is my profile? How do I create my profile?
- Your profile is the information you provide to other members about who you are. Some of your profile is printed out on your calling card.
- To create your profile, click 'create your profile' and fill in the form.
4. It says 'view my profile'. How do I change my profile?
- Your profile is the information you provide to other members about who you are.
- View you profile shows you what other members will see when they click on your name in the public messages.
- To change your profile, click on 'change your details' next to your photo when you are logged onto the home page.
5. How do I upload photos to the Photo Gallery?
- Email your photos from your mobile phone or computer to meetingplace@yourlifechoices.com.au.
- Your photo will be automatically uploaded in approximately 10 minutes and then you can view it on the meeting place photo gallery. [http://www.yourlifechoices.com.au/index.php/gallery] as long as you are a registered member
- The maximum file size is 1300px X 1000px and less than 900kb. If you are unsure if your photo is a suitable size email us at help@yourlifechoices.com.au for guidance.
6. I've forgotten my password. How do I find out my password?
- Click on 'forgot password' next to the password box.
- Insert your email address in the box that comes up below.
- A new password will be emailed to you in a few minutes and you can enter it in the member log-in section.
7. How do I change back to a password I will remember?
- Once you are logged in, click on 'change your details'.
- Go to change your password and re-enter your favoured password in 'new password' and 'new password confirm'.
- Enter the current password in 'your existing password'.
- Click 'update'.
8. How can I make sure I never forget my password?
- Click the box that says 'remember me' next to the user name in the member log-in and your computer will automatically insert your password for you.
9. What's the difference between posting a public message and sending a private message? Is this the same as a blog?
- When you post a public message, you are putting on the website a message which all members can see. It is like a public forum or a blog (or online journal)
- When you send a personal message you are sending a message to a particular member and the message is not able to be viewed by any other members. You can find who has sent you personal messages by clicking on 'view your messages' under 'messages' in the top centre of the page, when you have logged in.
10. How do I print out my calling card?
- Make sure you have entered your profile into the system, by clicking 'create your profile here' and filling in the form.
- You can see what your calling card will look like by clicking on 'change your details'.
- Click on 'print your calling card' on the top left of any meeting place page.
- Click on 'print' under 'file'.
11. How do I change the details on my calling card?
- Click on 'change your details'.
- Fill in the new details in the appropriate fields.
- Make sure you click 'update' at the bottom of the page.
12. How do I view my photos?
- Click on 'Visit the Meeting Place photo gallery' on the right hand side of the page.
13. How do I view my photos in the gallery?
- Click on 'Visit the Meeting Place photo gallery' on the right hand side of the page. You will only have access if you are a registered member
14. How do I enter or change my profile photo?
- Click on 'click here to upload your photo'.
- Make sure you have the photo you want to put up filed on your computer. Click on 'browse' and search for the photo from the files on your computer. Double click on the photo file and the file name should then be in the box next to 'browse'.
- Click on 'upload photo' and it should appear in the box on the left hand side of the home page.
15. How do I change my profile photo?
- Click on 'click here to edit your photo' on the left hand side of the page
- Make sure you have the photo you want to put up filed on your computer. Click on 'browse' and search for the photo from the files on your computer. Double click on the photo file and the file name should then be in the box next to 'browse'.
- Click on 'upload photo' and the new photo should appear in the box on the left hand side of the home page.
- The maximum file size is 500px X 500px and less than 500kb. If you are unsure if your photo is a suitable size email us at help@yourlifechoices.com.au for guidance.
16. My email address has changed. How do I change that on the meeting place page?
- Click on 'change your details' and scroll down to the bottom right of the page, 'email settings'.
- Enter your new email address and current password
- Click on 'Update'.
