With domestic fares at a 17-year low, now is the time to hop on a plane and visit parts of Australia you’ve never seen, or revisit your favourite destination.
According to figures from the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE), full economy fares have fallen 21.6% compared to this time last year. The best discount rates around are almost half of the fares recorded in 1993. These fares are usually conditional and don’t offer a checked baggage option but are still value for money if you’re ready to take off anytime.
