Centrelink customer service changes

7th Feb 2012

The recent flooding in Queensland and New South Wales has caused closures to some Centrelink and Medicare offices in affected regions. This may require you to make alternative reporting arrangements.

The following Department of Human Services offices are closed due to the recent flooding:

  • Moree Service Centre – Centrelink and Medicare
  • Roma Service Centre – Centrelink
  • Narrabri Service Centre – Medicare

Narrabri Centrelink office is open but with limited staffing. Please check Centrelink.gov.au for up-to-date information.

For those who usually lodge forms in person, but can’t do so due to the adverse weather, alternative arrangements have been put in place. Customers who live in the following postcodes and can’t reach their nearest office due to road closures can make a lodgement over the phone.

These arrangements are in place up to and including Friday 10 February 2012. For details of contact numbers, visit Centrelink.gov.au

Alternative arrangements for New South Wales ceased on Friday 3 February however, if you are having difficulties lodging your forms in person, you should call the relevant number above.

Centrelink call centres will be experiencing a higher number of calls, so it may take some time to have your call answered.
