Centrelink holiday reporting and payment dates

The Department of Human Services, including Centrelink, will be closing over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. This will mean that reporting and payment days may change.

During the festive period, the Department of Human Services offices and call centres will be closed on the following dates:

  • Christmas Day, Tuesday 25 December 2012
  • Boxing Day, Wednesday 26 December 2012
  • Thursday 27 December 2012
  • Saturday 29 December 2012
  • New Years Day, Tuesday 1 January 2013
  • Australia Day, Saturday 26 January 2013
  • Australia Day public holiday, Monday 28 January 2013

 

Over this period, Centrelink Online Services and Phone Self Service will still be available. You can use these services to report on public holidays, but payment will not be made until after the public holiday, on the dates given below.

Debbie, I don't understand these dates!

I have a normal aged pension and my next pension day is Wednesday 19 December followed by Wednesday 02 January.. those dates are not mentioned above at all!

This is just too confusing!

The only aged pension dates which are affected fall between Christmas Eve (24/12) and New Year's Day (1/1), so your days are just normal. No changes at all.
