5. Western Australia
Western Australia boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, but even if you’re no sand lover there’s plenty of free things to see and do in WA.

Bibbulmun Track
Situated east of Perth, the Bibbulmun Track stretches 1000km through native forest. While we don’t suggest tackling the full 1000km, it’s worth grabbing a day-pack and hitting the trail.

Australian National Maritime Museum
Take a step back in time and get a feel for the first ships which travelled to Australian shores. Take in the museum galleries and enjoy the various special exhibitions on show from time to time. Entry is free on the first Thursday of each month.
