Malaysia Airlines gets a makover

Malaysia Airlines will be completely rebranded before the end of the year according to new CEO Christoph Mueller.

Announcing that the airline is “technically bankrupt” and adding that the “decline of performance started long before the tragic events of 2014”, the new name is being kept under wraps at this stage but it is said that the brand will be around a ‘Malaysian-centric’ ideal.

Embarking on what he calls a “hard reset” for the airline, Mueller is adamant that the travelling public understands the airline will not just be Malaysia Airlines “in a new disguise” and rather this rebranding exercise is “truly a start-up”.

ANZ ups the ante
From July 18 ANZ will increase the number of Virgin Australia Velocity points that its customers can earn across a range of the banks Rewards-branded Visa and American Express cards.

By tweaking the Velocity conversion rate, frequent flyers will now incur more Velocity points for each dollar they spend, bringing them in line with the top-tier credit cards from the other big four banks, which collect 1.5 frequent flyer points per dollar spent.
