Paracetamol offers limited benefits

A recent article in the British Medical Journal looks at a large international study that reported that the benefits of paracetamol are unlikely to be worth the risks when it comes to treating osteoarthritis in the hip or knee. Whilst this is upsetting and frustrating to people who suffer from such conditions, there are alternatives.

Rose-Hip Vital® is a safe, effective long-term alternative for joint pain and inflammation that is not only natural and well tolerated by most people, but is also backed by over 30 scientific studies and nine clinical trials.

And this is what is important – the science behind a brand. When it comes to your health and wellness, it’s important to research the plethora of products on the market and understand what they are made from and how they work in order to make an informed choice for your body.

It can be overwhelming. Many products make claims but unless there are trials undertaken on people and scientific studies on the product and its effectiveness, you may end up spending money on something that provides little benefits.

So let’s better understand Rose-Hip Vital®. Rosehip has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries. Many people religiously drink rosehip tea or use rosehip oil on their skin. Rose-Hip Vital®is a 100 per cent pure and natural powder produced from rosehips grown in Scandinavia. The plants mature before harvesting which gives them time to produce the best quality fruits and the deep roots to access and absorb a vast array of natural vitamins and minerals. The rosehips are then dried with a special patented drying process which isolates the patented active compound GOPO®. The result is Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO® – a powerful anti-inflammatory, strong antioxidant and natural source of Vitamin C.

The research undertaken on Rose-Hip Vital® indicates that GOPO®discourages large numbers of white blood cells from accumulating in the joint. This breaks the vicious cycle of joint inflammation, thereby alleviating pain.

The Principal of Health Schools Australia, Stephen Eddy explains:

Some white blood cells are involved in the inflammatory process by ‘cleaning’ inflamed joints. However, in large numbers these cells can release toxic free radicals which further damage the joints. The more inflamed the joint becomes, the more white blood cells are attracted to it. The active compound GOPO®found in Rose-Hip Vital® actually discourages large numbers of white blood cells from accumulating in the joint and slows down the production of toxic free radicals. This helps to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation and joint damage.

A placebo-controlled, double-blind crossover trial involving patients with osteoarthritis of the hip or knee found that treatment with Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO ® resulted in a significant reduction in pain and use of medication after three weeks and significant reduction in disability, stiffness and severity of the disease after three months of treatment.

82 per cent of patients reported reduction in pain after three weeks of active treatment with Rose-Hip Vital® with GOPO ®. Pain was alleviated to such an extent that 40 per cent reduced their consumption of paracetamol.

Rose-Hip Vitalwith GOPOcapsules were first imported into Australia in 2002. The Rose-Hip Vitalwith GOPO Joint Health capsules offer an easy to digest three capsule dosage, which need to be initially taken twice a day, with many people experiencing results within three weeks. A reduced-maintenance dose of three capsules a day is recommended for ongoing joint health and as a preventative.
