Simplest Pear and Ginger Slice

22nd Nov 2011

This recipe for Pear and Ginger Slice was given to Debbie by her friend Carol and she was dubious as to just how it would turn out. Sometimes the simplest things are the best, and tastiest.

Ingredients

1 pack store’s own vanilla cake mix
200g butter, melted
400g tin of pears
200ml tinned custard
5 or 6 ginger nuts

Method

Preheat the oven to 180'C. Line and grease a slice tin.

Mix together the cake mix and butter and spread evenly in the slice tin. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Mix together the pears and the tinned custard and spread on the cake base. Crush the ginger nuts and sprinkle over the top of the slice.

Bake for a further 15 minutes and remove from the oven. Leave to cool for five minutes then place in the refrigerator. Once completely cool slice and serve.
