The country is at present debating a referendum proposal for 2017 to uniquely recognise Aboriginals in the constitution ,


Libertarians like me be Believe a national declaration recognising indigenous Australians would be “too much of a surrender of a critical principle: that we should be treated as individuals under the law, with equal standing and common rights, and not as representatives of a ‘race’, each with a different stand

On the other side are people who believe that Aboriginals deserve unique recognition and they us as an example of minorities being given extra rights Tasmania .."As part of the price of creating a nation, voters at the Federation referendums agreed to give all states the same number of senators, regardless of population. This explains why Tasmania’s 515,000 people are represented in Canberra by the same number of senators as the 7.5 million people in NSW."

Should we give minorities more than equal representation before the law in Australia..

Well IMO the real owners of this land that we stole from them have been treated in the most horrific way and still are and its about time we woke up and did the right thing, what ever that is.   They sure have more love and respect for this country than the white man does or has ever had!

It's all Captain Cooks fault because if he had not found this land we would not have an Aboriginal problem and I would be in Canada.

Do the Aboriginals really want to go back to hunting their meals and wandering about spraying graffiti in caves?

I think not.

I don't know whether you have received any of our messages by email and Private Message so I'm going to try this.

Both PeterM and I have requested that our memberships be deleted - so far this hasn't been done and we are both still able to log on. We explained to you that although one can just stop posting, it is far more preferable to be blocked altogether rather than being open to temptation to log on and get into a barney with anyone on the forum.

After all, your aim is to have a peaceful forum, is it not? Hopefully our request will be granted.
