What's Important?

I'm just trying to find out the things that are most important/cause to most concern to baby boomers.

I believe that most of us over 55's are most concerned about:

1/  Our health

2/  Our financial well being   and

3/  Our lifestyle choices.

Anyone care to contribute and help me out?

Thanks.

Ray,

It would seem the last perfect person had himself nailed to a cross.

As an alternative it may be best to retain a few imperfections, suffer from bouts of frequent blinking, and avoid looking in mirrors.

The health and well being of my kids, their partners and my grandkids is the most important thing to me. Second to that the health and well being of my partner, myself and our close friends but I sort of expect us all to face various health difficulties as we age.

Family happiness is the most important gift, and makes me think of Phil Walsh who I understand paid more attention to his game and other people than to his son, tragic outcome

IMO the main purpose in life is your own happiness ..

Be a Pollyanna ...If you are cheerful and optimistic you will be doing the best for all those around you .There is far to much pessimism in the world .

Is that a photo of you Pete??

No Ray it's my youngest , a 13 year old daughter ..

This is me a 73 year old doing a selfie...

Oops it's changed this site not I pad friendly ..

you're a braver man than me gunga din,  a 13 year old at 73, that must keep you busy!!

Can't think of any down side Ray , involved rather than busy ...Just got back yesterday from the Snow yesterday with the girls  put nineteen year old on the plane to Thailand this morning Off to the Stables now to check on youngests horses ..

Besides which I get to meet all the yummy mummy's at school functions ..

Pete,

Inclined to agree, being happy in your own skin is a good start, usually has a positive effect on those around you.

Enjoy yourself down in the snow with the girls ? A bit too cold for me.

Good on you Pete.read somewhere in a medical mag the children of older fathers have a longer lifespan, something to do with telomeres. Im dog sitting a labrador puppy at the moment, would rather have two of my active grandkids to look after any day!

Shaggy didn't notice the cold it's hot work skiing ..

Ray it's also older fathers who gain in lengthen telomeres as nature has a way of insuring that parents are required to raisE the young ...

There is nothing more important than my bank accounts......money lovely.

Davey,

Yeah money is not the only thing that's important but whatever comes second is a long way behind. :-)

Financial security is most important as one ages but  of course all the money in the world cannot fix bad health but  at least a person's life could be a darn sight more comfortable if they were financially sound.

Stress is a shocking thing and especially  in the senior years.

Ray, I'm dog sitting daughters kelpie/border collie cross at the moment.  She's not too bad, just have to watch where she is in case I trip over her.

Especially as she sleeps right next to me in bed, or at the base of the bed, on the floor and I forget she's there, being black doesn't help either.  Can't even go to the loo without her coming in as well.

So look out John, the kids think you have spare time on your hands now and need to give you something to do to keep you occupied.  Just this week had to cut all the overhanging branches over the footpath,  off daughter's trees this week.

Son brings all his mending home for Mum to fix.  I told him most of his favourite jeans went in the garbage last time as he was wanting patches over patches.  There are just so many patches you can put on jeans.

Ha ha know what you mean Sandi thought I was going tohave a day of sport watching but the dog keeps interrupting, attention seeker, good thing it's so cute. Complaining now, but will be sorry when they come to get it.
