Prince Charles drops in on the Aussie cricket team

The Australian cricket team had a Royal scout in their midst ahead of the Ashes tour which begins on Wednesday, with Prince Charles dropping in for a chat.

His primary area of concern seemed to be Mitchell Johnson – who wrecked the English team during the previous Ashes series.

Would you like to have been a fly on the wall for that chat? What do you think the Aussie cricket team would discuss with Prince Charles? What would you say to Prince Charles if you had the chance?

Charlie's son is flying an air ambulance donating his wages to charity.

Sourgrapes from jealous geo

Jealous of living in a fish bowl and waiting for mummy to cark it before actually getting the gig ? No Davey just pointing out if he wants to visit he can pay his own way. After all its an invite from anglophile Abbo to bolster the monarchy and not useful in any shape or form apart from PR.

Your reasoning escapes me. Its the son doing the flying not Charlie and he is not dependent on the wages having the royal stipend to live on flying or not.

You may as well say I am jealous of the prince of Denmark or whatever. They are useful I assume to whichever country has them but are tits on a bull in Australia.

I think Lord Grumble is a true blue Aussie Pete. As a £10 Pom you have no right to offend him.

So what do think Viv is this an offensive remark

haha, childsh

How unfortunate that Australia has to be brought into the discussion on 'blue blood' 'true blue', and now using the terms which have been around for several hundred years, due to Britain being inhabited for thousands of years.

Don't start to dispute facts, a blue blooded person is truly blue in skin colour, a condition named Argyria.

How about those who dispute the origin and meaning that 'true blue' and 'blue blood' means the same thing, research history in depth, way back more than the 200 odd years since Australia was discovered and settled, by 'Poms' which is not a meaning of English migrants, and an impossibility for people living in England, they still live there, how can they be Poms, whatever the different meanings of the abbreviation, p.o.m, all relate to people who have left England.

Proves the illiteracyof the media and cricket commentators.

Argyria exists as a medical condition, as against the origin from Chaucer of "True Blue" meaning Loyalty. I remember it well from reading Chaucer.

Two very different origins and two very different meanings, Argyria does not relate to the meaning of "True Blue" in this topic.

Agreed POM relates to people who have left England - which is why as English migrants forced as in convicts or colloquially used for voluntary migrants today it is still in use.

Viv your diverting of Robis comment to a discussion on the term pommy is not the issue I am raising .

My point is that the type of thinking as raised in Robis post that "True blue' Aussies whatever definition you wish to give it have extra rights . Is in my view wrong ...

Pete your remark that LG and Aboriginals are uneducated was wrong and offensive, haven't seen you apologise for that, so have no sympathy for you. So no point in asking me anything further.

Viv very simple Question do you consider Robi's remark acceptable ?

Ihave not reported Robis view and don't intend to ... But the moderator in being silent on this point says a lot ..Do you agree that segments of society have extra rights ...True blue , Abotiginals ,Homosexuals , Muslims ..,

"Workers" " unionists " " farmers " "greenies "everybody wants extra rights .,

All the more reason to discuss me Denzy. Anglo Saxon features and all that.....feel sure Charlie would be interested in an Anglo Saxon Aussie babe with a few years under her belt (like him). Why should Lord Gumble take the stage?

So Charles drops in on the Aussie cricket team befor the game thats enough to put off any team from winning :)
