These are my sentiments exactly!!!!!!



Australia has so much water going to waste, solar power, wind power, tidal power, the possibilities are endless.

Seems the pollies can not see the wood for the trees as the saying goes.



It is time they started to think about the good of the nation and less about whether they will voted in next time elections come around..



Personally I would be more inclined to vote for the ones who are forward looking than the head in sand, cant upset big business models.

caddie, stay on your soap box please. It is only by all of us always raising points of interest to not only ourselves but our fellow australians that we may in time get things changed.

At times we do get abused, told to stop whingeing, to get a life even, however as the saying goes-one voice is a whisper, a lot of voices becomes a shout.

We get bombarded via the media all the time on what we should do to help save the planet , the animals, plants, ourselves,well the only way we can do that apart from our own efforts at recycling and planting trees and trying to provide habitats for animals is to keep badgering those whom we have elected to do the right thing and as you say stop worrying about whether they will be able to keep their snouts in the trough for a longer period of time.

Soap box orators forever-that is where change starts-how do you think women got the vote!!

Money is what is stopping all of your suggestions for water etc Toots.



Reason is that if you look at the Budget papers and see that it is the workers who pay the most tax and these unfortunately do not include the top bods like the late Kerry packer who legally only paid $10 a year in income tax but earned billions and lived like a billionaire too and why? because only the workers are on PAYE - pay as you earn - scheme. The Company CEO's and directors along with Lawyers Barristers do not PAYE if they did we would in all likely hood has the money to do these things.



Excuses get made like when the Senate did the enquiry to see if Kerry was legal and found he was in minimising his income taxes. The excuse being he gave us jobs. As if the man would have sat back and not worked or provided jobs if he had to pay his fair share of income taxes. Get real there was a time when top bods paid 100% in income taxes at a certain level of income and that has gradually gone down over the years and Why?



Because the donations to political parties has allowed them to get income taxes down in every country by the implied threat of no come to the party on the favours we want - no donation next year! Works.



Again if the income tax loop holes that allow minimizing were closed off the MPs themselves would all have to pay more tax and like when pay is raised - strangely they speak with one tongue - forked of course rofl..........



PS I have been getting problems with the site too - freezing on typing for instance and then not able to post for same reason you found so what I do is cut and paste my post until I can get it posted. Saves time and frustration!
