Doing the things that scare you most

I thought this article was really good. It's about doing the thing that scares you most in order to take control of your life. At least that's what I got out of it.

What scares you most? I read yesterday that more people are afraid of spiders than they are of dying, which kind of made me chuckle, because, unless the spider was going to kill me, I'd find eating a spider preferable to facing death.

Have you ever done anything like skydiving? Have you ever heard of anything like this? What would you do to face the thing that scares you most?

I would face it, if it was something that was interfering with my life.

I have never wanted to bunggy jump etc   as it is not something that is nessesary for life.

I don't agree with the notion that one must do what scares them most in order to take control of their lives. Rational fear can be a friend guiding us toward sensible caution and irrational fear needs only to be faced if it is interfering with life quality.

I never talk back to my wife, that scares me the most!!! Seriously though instinct kicks in when necessary and it is not unusual for one to do the things they are most scared of in times of disaster, why do them before they are really necessary?

Been scared far too many times to go looking for something to scare me.

I can do without a fit of the frights.

Scares me most is to log in to YLC and see all the "smack" people talk about me! lol lol lol  (kidding) but true ................... :-) :-)

i have a few fears,   some i can do something about,   some i cant,     hospitals terrify me,   but i suppose if it were life or death,   id go get done what was neccesary,     sky diving would frighten me,   but it wont make any difference if i dont do it,     so i wont,  same as flying,    never been in a plane,   and hope i never have to,    afraid of dying,   but thats the one i cant avoid,   so will have    to face it when it comes,      just hope its quick,   and painless,

Cats,

Like you I do not like hospitals, hate flying, sky diving ? Why jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane.

Public speaking.   Hell will freeze over before I get in front of a microphone!!

im with you on that one radish,     i couldnt talk in front of people,   have struggled with speeches for my kids 21sts and weddings,   christenings,    hate it,

I thought hard - and remembered what really scared me ......... many years ago - we  stayed overnight at a Boutique Hotel here in Melbourne - which had one of those Glass Bubble Lifts...ok ....you could either go up the 'outside" of the building (and see the sights of Melb.)  ...or the "inside" of the building - (like up thru the core?) to the  14th. Floor!!!!!

Afraid of heights - (and being guests -  on the 14th. floor) begged my hubby and friends ..."please please can we go on the "inside"  bubble lift...????   I couldn't handle the "outside" of the building one......  :-(

So .....up the "inside" one we went - disgusting - saw all the ropes/pulleys lift equipment - thru the "glass bottom" of this lift ....as we went up..all other floors flashing past......nothing under you but -  a "glass floor" !!!!! - arrghhhhhhhhh - never again! EVER!

Was weak at the knees and had to be helped out of the  lift shaking n shaking .....horrendous!!!  Had a stiff drink (or two) after that one - trust me! lol

that........ and Huntsman Spiders!!!!!   ....... that's it from me! :-)
