Ceiling Fans + Cleaning or Fan Blade Sleeves

cleaning the blades is a nightmare.  Any handy hints or has anyone tried these sleeves that fit over the blades and hopefully make keeping them clean easier.

If so I most definitely need to get these!

I agree. I hate looking at the dirty fan blades. Wonder if the covers affect the air flow though. If they work - well that would be great  :)

I also wondered Gerry if they would affect the flow of air.

Not cheap though at $ 22.00 for 12 plus postage at $9/$ 10.00.

You would still have to clean them before you put the covers on Gerry or you wouldn't notice the difference.

Personally I think this is a take .... just look at the pictures

.... my blades never  look like that ... mine only ever have a bit of fine dust on them which I do with a duster every week when I dust the rest of the bedroom.

As for putting a sleeve on the blades it would just make them more difficult to clean

You can buy a new Arlec fan at Bunnings for about $ 40 or on special for $30

Abby if you have a smoker in the house that is exactly what they would look like.

YuK!!!

Send them outside to smoke ..... why would you want to dirty your house ??

It would not just be on the fans ... it would be on everything in the room including the paintwork.

Ladies it depends on how high your ceilings are as to whether it is a major undertaking or not, cleaning the bedroom fan is easy with a long a very long handled ceiling duster for me. Cleaning fans in the living area is not such a major problem I can  go up on the upstairs landing and reach them. Kitchen fans collect grease and means balancing on the top of a very long ladder to wash them off and I hate heights.

Cheap if they work and I am going to give them a try, get my tall son to put them on.

Looks like a simple idea that would save a lot of work. Worth trying.

I'm lucky then cause I don't have fans in the kitchen.  I have a good exhaust fan for the stove.

Only need to lift the collector out once a week and wash in the sink and then slip the filter back in.

Let us know how and if they work :)
