Tony Bourke Rorter extraordinaire.

Tony Burke had the option to ask bureaucrats to fly his family economy class on a taxpayer-funded holiday to Uluru, but chose instead to have them booked business class, costing $6500, about four times as much.

“It is, as a minimum, unethical for a member of the House of Representatives to fly to Uluru with his family at considerable expense and charge it to the public purse,” Mr Wilkie said. “The accusations in The Australian newspaper today about Tony Burke taking his family to Uluru is a case in point because no reasonable member of the community would feel that the cost of such a journey should be borne by taxpayers.”

Economy return Sydney-Uluru flights can currently be had for about $475 by booking online.

Mr Burke claimed three nights’ travel allowance at $1497, and the whole trip cost the taxpayer $12,780.74. He yesterday again declined to provide a rationale for why he had his family members fly business class when he could have asked for them to go economy for a fraction of the cost to taxpayers.

Mr Burke’s spokesman provided no response to suggestions the $70,619.59 in entitlements he claimed for a one-week trip to Switzerland, Britain and France shortly before the Uluru trip was excessive.

Mr Burke was Labor’s most vocal critic of former speaker Bronwyn Bishop, His spokesman denied there was a double-standard.

Let us not just pass by Mr Chrissy Wissy Pyne's extrordinary rorts mentioned above. The mind boggles when pollies such as Mr CW Pyne labels pensioners as leaners and then wastes taxpayer funds for his family's holidays.

Shame on you Chrissy Wissy.

Join Bronwyn in the disgraced department as a fellow thief.

Maybe if Burke was required to make repayments on his fraudulent claims then the pension could be increased :)

Gerry don't you know of Burke . ? Why is your critisism of pollies only about the Coalition?

Pete , why is your critisism of pollies limited to Labor when you try and defend theives such as Bronwyn

Interesting how all these cowardly thieving men joined together now that it affects their Entitlements .. compared to their rorts Bronwyn looks like an angel.

I have not defended Our dear Bronnie or anyone . When the lefties on here were in full cry to crucifying Bronnie I was saying the system needs changing but was howled down as Bronnie being Unique . Now that is not the case as Burke is obviously a bigger rorter , suddenly it's the system .

I would call that Bias of the worse kind .

Abby

Bishop has been outrorting everyone since she got into office. Angel ? Wasn,t Lucifer once an angel ?

Typed in “News for Tony Bourke” in Google yesterday and this came up :

I think Google is slipping, the word is "extraordinaire" hmmmm

That is a way to get onto the first page of Google

without paying them :)

Thanks for letting me know, will try that sometime!!!!

I think that is the second time you have put that up.

Sorry no one is buying your obvious attempt as diversion...

Thanks for that Geoff ... you can see it on Bronwyn's face how honest she is unlike all these sexist and ageist men

You cannot spell and you cannot comprehend English and now you are imagining things. I saw that pic for the first time today on FB. No diversion just apt place to put it and its amusing. Much better than muck raking or sleazebag innuendo so favoured by some.

Can vouch that the picture hit the front pages of the Daily Telegraph a few days ago - don 't you read the papers Pete??

Tony Burke spent $54,000 on lavish parties in just six weeks as Labor arts minister

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Mr Burke attended eight “stakeholder functions” in six different cities at a cost to the taxpayer of $54,312.69, not long after then prime minister Julia Gillard had announced the election date.

The beverage bill alone was almost $20,000 for the events in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Hobart.

By comparison, current Arts Minister George Brandis,  told a senate hearing last year his stakeholder meetings involved getting “some chips and twisties from the vending machine”.

Brandis of bookcase infamy ? The QC that has never had a case as a QC and is constantly being exposed as a total incompetent. The man who called Howard a lying rodent ? Ahh that Brandis.

Labor leader Bill Shorten has to declined to criticise Mr Burke’s entitlements claims.

“Mr Burke’s conduct has been within the rules at all times and he has my confidence,” Mr Shorten told reporters in Sydney on Friday.

Classic Labor never done a days work in his life.,,,

What is Irish Catholicism how does it differ from Roman Catholicism .

The whole agenda from Labor was to get rid of Bronwyn Bishop.

Achieved!

However, now that her expenses have been exposed they are all backtracking as they dont want this to go any further....too many on both sides, government and opposition, who are just as guilty.

It is no wonder politicians are regarded so poorly!!

Yes Radish they want to shut it down ( chatter ) because its too close to home for most of them. Compared to other nations our pollies are very well paid yet think they are hard done by.

I thought it was newscorpse followed by Fairfax that kicked off the Bishop ruckus and Labor responded similar to the libs and Slipper but not as vicious or over the top.

Tony Burke, the manager of opposition business, said Labor would continue to press for Mrs Bishop to resign despite her apology on Thursday.

Earlier this week Mr Burke said Labor would no longer respect the Speaker when she tried to chair proceedings.

Now he has broadened that to all cooperation between the two major parties, and

"Whatever level of goodwill and cooperation has been there in the past will apply to condolence motions and absolutely nothing else," Mr Burke told ABC's Capital Hill program.

"Any level of cooperation that the Government ordinarily relies on is gone if we have a situation where Bronwyn Bishop's still in the chair."

Education Minister Christopher Pyne has told the ABC Mr Burke "is essentially saying he will hold his breath until he gets his way in the manner of a two-year-old."

"It's a pathetic and embarrassing comment from Labor and if they attempt to carry out this silly threat they will be displaying their own petulance and unfitness for governmen

Burke is a complete Hypocrite

From Parliament or the Human Race? There's little enough precedent for either in his party of moral bankrupts and mental Pygmies.

Why doesn't Shorten demand this Grub resign ....

Bronnie apologised paid back with a 25 per cent penalty resigned her position .

Berk the perk does nothing,
