Q. I recently wrote an essay on my iPad, and finding no way to save assumed it had automatically made this move. I returned to my work next day and made corrections. Left it for a week or two and tried to find it, but couldn't remember the word processor program I used (I'm elderly) and haven't been able to find my work since. Any hints?

The stock word pressing app which comes with iPads is called 'Notes'. Unless you've downloaded any additional apps I'd say this is most likely where you'll find your essay. The icon for Notes is a piece of lined yellow legal pad.
