Victorian state schools to scrap religious instruction

Under a new order from the Andrews government, religious instruction will no longer be a part of Victorian state school curriculum. As of next year, the controversial RI program will now be moved to lunchtime or before and after school, rather than taking place during standard school hours.

The class will be replaced by new content which will include world histories, cultures, faiths and ethics, as well as lessons that deal with the issues of domestic violence and respectful relationships.

Do you agree that state schools should remain secular? Do you think that the new content will be more beneficial to students?

Don't think religion should be taught in the classroom, lunchbreaks should be for fun, kicking a footie around and not more studying.Kids have enough homework

after school too. Keep religion for Sunday. Just my opinion
