Which country has the worst cuisine?

Adam Liaw has written a witty article in which he discusses the difficulties of judging world cuisine. As a renowned chef, Liaw's culinary calls have clout, but I'm interested to know what you think is the world's worst cuisine? Maybe you can tell us what is your favourite whilst we're at it?

I'll get things started ...

I can't say I don't like any one cuisine, but if I had to go with one, it'd probably be German. I do like a good Bratwurst, but overall it's a bit of a meaty cuisine and maybe not enough variety for my liking.

As far as a favourite, it's a tough call, but I've always been partial to good sushi. However, as far as favourite ‘cuisine’, it’s a difficult to go past Italian – it's in my blood.

I will say that my two favourite foods are donuts and sushi. So if I started my own country, that'd be my cuisine!

Sub-question: If you had to make your own cuisine, of what would it consist?

I also hate meat that is not cooked right through, not that I eat much meat.  I like GOOD Chinese food we had one here but it has gone to pot now, don't mind nice Thai.

I too LOVED Aussie prawns and Lobster and also good Aussie fish

I love soups, hot in winter, cool in summer. My favorites are  Chinese Won ton soup and Spanish Gazpacho. Oh, talking about Spanish food, let's not forget a seafood Paella on the beach of Valencia,

I was quite intrigued by Ceviche of White fish, no cooking I see  the marinade does it all and Gazpacho And  Paella real favourites.

Can anyone recommend a tasteful, 'pleasing' dish from the Aboriginal kitchen? Anxious to try.

Try witchetty grub, can b e eaten raw, or roasted on grill or quickly fried in butter and garlic

Japanese food does nothing to tempt my taste buds.  You can''t beat good old roast beef and Yorkshire pud.  Do love Thai and Italian though.

I loved Japan food but would not dare to eat it now with the amount of radiation and they are still using their local rice tuna etc, I won't even touch Sushi now

Vivity,

mainly a lack of ingredients and up to recently basically no free enterprise, so no incentives to be different or better than the restaurant next door.

We have, as far as I know, one Aboriginal food restaurant in Brisbane and they don't offer those worms that you recommend. All that' simp lied by "aboriginal" ingredients are meats like emu, crocodile, possum with some local herbs and weeds. Despite these "local" things,the prices are "international". I suppose one has to travel inland and ask for a meal at one of the settlements of Aboriginal people. (and here's unlikely emu or possum on the stove, rather Heinz beans with ham?).
