Telstra

See that they are going to CHARGE you to pay your bill $2.50 unless you pay online--what a bloody hide they have! However I believe that IF you are on the pension it will not be charged--but make sure--they forget that many don't have a computer. The only reson I stay with them for my land line is because I get a discount on the rental from them. Also there are a few others such as Optus as well that are going to charge. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!

Fortunately, this latest rip-off does not bother me. Like so many others, I had horrendous problems dealing with Telstra and their incompetent administrative and billing systems several years ago. I swore then that I would never have dealings with them again and keep that oath to this day. For the humble consumer in this country, our only real way of getting the message through is to "vote with our feet" whenever and wherever we can. :-)

kfchugo---who are you with as there are quite a few that are going to do this charge--just be aware

PlanB, I use my internet service provider.....Comcen. They do a package deal which includes my home phone and broadband. Including calls (mostly local), I pay about $100 per month. I use "Voip" to make long distance and international calls usually for a connection fee of 5 eurocents, after which the call is free and untimed. It might not suit everyone, but in my circumstances, it suits me well.

I think Telstra are really mean and treat customers with disdain to dare to ask for the extra money because people want to pay in person.

We are very happy with our $29.95 wireless broadband but would have liked VOIP but our propvider does not support it.

We only pay $24 a month for our Telstra landline as we just use the internet to contact family so hardly any phone calls.

If one pays by credit card, there's an extra charge , which up to now has been .69% of the bill, and will now go up to 1%.

I now have a set amount direct debited. But no doubt, somewhere along the line there will be a charge for that also.

I will not allow direct debt to my account--I pay by direct credit over the net--I know a few that have had the direct debt--and when they cancelled the service --the company was still taking money out and they had a real problem trying to get their money back.
