I am currently thinking of moving into a retirement village and have made the basic email enquiries from the village I am interested in but would like to hear from somebody who is already living in one. I currently live in a 2 bedroom unit under the Strata Plan system which I own and am independent but use Homecare once a month for vacuuming and washing kitchen and bathroom floors and I currently have Lite N' Easy for food which is delivered weekly.
I'm finding it very isolating in my unit block as everybody else goes to work and I can't get out as I used to. I'm 74 and want to continue as I am but feel it is time I made this move.

I am aware that the costs involved are different with retirement villages so would love to hear from somebody who is already living in a one bedroom situation. It's the hidden costs that I would like to understand before I go asking my family to go have a look at the village that I am interested in. I live in Sydney and the one I'm interested in is at Banora Point where my son and grandchildren live.

I need to know what additional questions to have them ask in addition to having a look at the village, as it is pointless for me to go to look if I can't afford to live there.
