Doctors targeted for being doctors by AFP
Dr Young said the AFP "accessed my metadata, they've called up my colleagues and questioned them about why they are speaking to me", which disproved government claims that secrecy provisions in Australian Border Force laws are not aimed at doctors.
The laws introduced in July last year mean detention centre workers face up to two years in prison for recording or disclosing information obtained from their work.
In a statement in March, Immigration Department chief Michael Pezzullo said the laws "do not prevent, for example, medical professionals from seeking the best clinical outcomes for their patients".
There are laws that encourage/force doctors to report abuse or illegal behoaviour. The govt introduced laws to punish doctors who follow the doctors creed of care for patients. In this case the AFP collected data on a doctor and came up with zero. The doctor made the mistake of voicing his opinion which apparently is suspicious these days. From blue ties to brown shirts seems easy for some.
