Yes it does and most of us all agree that it is ............I would not send any money in a fit ..........take care pat .........

I love Yorkies - my last little one died in 2005 and we found that a new puppy was over $2000 and not even with papers - luckily as those with papers are show dogs so inbred and avoid them. Not for us though that price! Even mixed breed pups in the paper ask for $450 upwards these days too.

We went to the RSPCA and gave a puppy a home from there and he has turned out to be a lovely obedient German Shepherd/Border Collie Cross when we were told a terrier and he was small but grew and grew.

I like GS as they are easy to train and these days a big dog is a good thing anyway and as Border collies are also along with GS the two top of the IQ dogs - we hit the jackpot. You just have to tell him once and that is it - got straight away into popping out the doggie door not one wet patch in the house!

They ask for $230 these days but was $180 back in 2005 and that is with micro chipping and all vaccinations and fixed up so no huge vet bills and a healthy dog as not inbred!

My dog was free, as a puppy. Mum was a purebred Border Collie, but dad just happened to be a travelling salesman - we think a CattlexKelpie. She's a very bright dog, obedient and easily trained, and a darned good watch dog. She's not sure if she should bring things towards me, as Border Collies do, or get behind and push them forward as the cattle/kelpies do. She's a great soccer player. Took her to the grooming salon yesterday for her bath and toe nail trim. She's short haired, so they couldn't put a ribbon in her hair, so attached one to her lead.

I don't understand why anybody, other than a breeder, would even consider this, even if it were not a scam. In order to get a dog into Australia from South Africa, you are up for a few costs, such as, but not all:

Application fee, $280/dog. Vet inspection $71/dog. Transport to quarantine, approx $100/dog. around $20/day for 3 months in quarantine in South Africa, then $17.55/day & $12.55/day for the second dog for 120 days, upon arival in Australia.

Quarantine costs alone, would come to over $6,500.

Why would anybody be worried about the little scam?
