Hero White Helmets rescuer who wept as he pulled baby girl from Syrian rubble in footage that reduced BBC newsreader to tears is shot dead alongside six colleagues.
The White Helmets, also known as the Syrian Civil Defence, confirmed seven of its volunteers had been killed in cold blood by unidentified gunmen who attacked their office in Sarmin early this morning.

Engine problems have grounded almost all of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight warplanes. Yesterday issues with their Rolls Royce Merlin engines caused five of the BBMF's iconic Spitfires, its Hawker Hurricane and its Lancaster bomber to be ordered to stay on the ground until the technical hitch is solved. The only World War Two aircraft allowed to fly is a later model of the Spitfire fitted with a Griffon engine, also made by Rolls Royce, the restored Dakota transport plane and two Chipmunk trainers.
North Korea on July 4 reportedly launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile - a rocket capable of travelling over 5,000 km (3,100 miles) with a weapon on top.
This means it could attack northern parts of Australia .
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Australia would not automatically be involved were there to be any “catastrophic” conflict on the Korean peninsular under the ANZUS alliance or the Korean War armistice.
“In fact we were not a party, in the legal sense, to the [Korean War] armistice so there is no automatic trigger for Australia to be involved,” Ms Bishop told the ABC.
