Phillip Island penguin chicks

After scientists thinking that there was going to be a bumper crop of Penguin Chicks this
season that because there is no fish near the colony that the Parent Penguins are spending days at sea trying to gather enough food and the chicks are dying of hunger.

Surely in this day and age trawlers could have netted fish from out at sea and dragged fish in where the adults could have reached them and kept their chicks alive.

The nets could have been anchored onto the beach thereby helping to keep the chicks alive..
