Accommodation in Sydney

I have just taken up a cheap air ticket from Perth to Sydney. It is years since I was in Sydney and the thought of choosing reasonable, middle of the road accomodation is daunting. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks Sandikay, I have not heard of the Hotel Club. Enjoyed a lovely Mothers Day and now back on track to organise the trip. Have been checking out the site and there are heaps to choose from in Sydney.....
