It is impossible to overcome the ignorance and resulting violence of a medieval religion and traditions. That takes many years and relies on the population to take action.

You put things so well...can't add much to that except to say how sad that those people are so twisted in their thinking.
That is rhe one nautilus, what a disgrace to take out their hatred on the dead, what do they expect to gain, It reinforces the bad name of Islam created by the terrorists.
seth, the same Islamic fundamentalism has resulted in the desecration and destruction of unique historical architectural works elsewhere.
In Afghanistan the 'Taliban Islamic militia' scoffed at international condemnation of their destruction of ancient Buddist stone statues, some very large. The order was to destroy all of the pre-Islamic history 'in line with Islamic beliefs'.
These same disrespectful neanderthals wont tolerate the slightest disrespect or insult to their own beliefs, yet trample on the sensitivities of the rest of the world. I cant understand why western governments bend over backward to soothe and placate their Muslim populations when these kinds of things are happening all over the world. If moderate Muslims claim entitlement to respect, consideration and compromise in their adopted countries, they need to shout "outrage" at these crimes and be seen to "get off their bums" and do something about it.
I dont have the slightest inclination to show respect or tolerance for religions that have no tolerance for others.
