Can I open a Superannuation Account

I am not employed but wonder if I can find a Superannuation Fund where I can open up a Super Account to put a lump sum? I do not want to use it just leave it there for some years.  I am on a Carer pension looking after my husband at home.

I recently tried too open one and was rejected as I am not employed.

Any advice on this matter or if someone has another suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Why bother with super fund in your circumstances? Take a tour around the banks, building societies and credit unions, see where you can get the best term deposits return and invest that way.

Your money is safe, only thing is you have to sit out the period you agreed upon or you suffer a penalty. Keep it simple.

Thankyou to everyone that has sent replies...I really appreciate it...have got a few REALLY GOOD TIPS and they hopefully will solve my original problem.

Best Regards to all

Take Care
