PM's personal website gets a Scotty Doesn't Know 'makeover'
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been a busy man since he won the top job after the toppling of Malcolm Turnbull, so it’s no wonder he may have forgotten a few housekeeping tasks – such as remembering to renew the licence for his website scottmorrison.com.au.
Unfortunately, an internet troll saw an opportunity and took it over and this morning it was playing a rock song Scotty Doesn’t Know.
"So, the PM forgot to renew his website and it expired today,” Jack Genesin wrote on Facebook last night. “Most fun I've had with $50 in a long time.”
The song by American band Lustra about cheating had its heyday after being included in the 2004 teen film EuroTrip. The first line is: "Scotty doesn't know that Fiona and me do it in my van every Sunday” with the chorus repeating the line “Scotty doesn’t know”.
At the time of writing, Mr Genesin’s version of the website remained live.
As could be expected, the stunt captivated social media.
“If Scotty Doesn’t Know doesn’t become one of the parties (sic) election songs I will be very disappointed,” wrote one Twitter user.
Ha ha ha, that’s hilarious. Love cheeky Oz larrikanism :). Unfortunately it has been taken down but I had a listen on YouTube.
SCOTTY DOESN’T KNOW - SCOTTY HAS TO GO.....
