Mysterious sea creature washed up on beach

I saw these images pop up in the news yesterday and found articles about it from earlier in Feb. I always love –and fear– the idea that there are mysterious things out there yet to be discovered, but I'm not even sure if these images are real.

The articles claim that this unidentified creature washed up on a beach in Mexico. It has a dolphin like head but no eyes, suggesting that is hunts using sonar. It also has no flippers of fins, and even more peculiar, it has a slim eel like tail. The three sharp teeth that run down the middle of the roof of it's mouth are also found on moray eels.

What do you think this creature could be? Is this a deep-sea mystery or the perfect prank?

How very interesting.

there is some speculation that it came from a marine area that is almost 1000 metres deep in nearby Puerto Vallarta.

It looks like a deformed dolphi.

:) My guess ... a fangtooth snake-eel whose tiny eyes have decomposed.

I reckon your dead right!

If it is a prank it's a good one, Snopes hasn't caught up with it yet. :)  It could well be real, lots of strange-looking creatures live in the deep, deep ocean, where it is so dark eyes are not needed.

Since we know more about the surface of the moon than we know about the ocean depths anything is possible with many unknown creature down there.

It looks like a dolphin had a relationship with an eel and produced this offspring. It literally has no eye sockets so the eyes havent existed like we would know them. There are lots of photos on the internet and even a facebook page of these types of shots. We really know very little about what lurks beneath!
