Are we all just a number to Medics?

We would like to think we really matter but I think to our Doctors it is just a job. Peter and I had fantastic husband and wife Doctors we had been going to for years who moved last year and we felt we had lost family as they really at least appeared to care.

.............

No wonder more and more people are turning to the Internet and other forms of self diagnosis and medication, looking for cures to things Doctors really dismiss as just something to live with. Trouble is, we can do more harm than good but maybe often better than just walking in and getting a script. for something (not necessarily the right one but something) from the Doctor. Also we are all told to "tell the Doctor all your symptoms" but are they interested? do not really feel they are.

Have a special Tuesday folks.

I must be lucky as I have a wonderful clinic minutes away and all the doctors there are caring and astute...AND they give patients time to explain symptoms and discuss. I intensely dislike these huge medical centres that have sprung up, where I would only go if I had no other choice ...impersonal and the poor doctors obviously are only allowed a limited consult time with each patient.

Look after yourselves to the best of your ability!!!

PS to above...I would not seek medical advice online unless using an accredited site such as Better Health Channel (acc by Vic Govt) or Medline, which we used at work when updating certain medical info etc. There is so much mis-information out there and remember...anyone can post their own advice or angle on anything! Good wishes to all.
