Hospital crisis in Victoria.
I would have thought that with all the trouble going on within our Vic hospital cutbacks there would have been something about such a serious subject in our chat lines. This was brought home to me the last few days, my daughter almost severed a finger in her car door, went to the hospital and as it needed urgent treatment possibly to remove the squashed part, but as she would have at least a two to three hour wait for the surgeon, was advised that if she had private ins, and went to Knox it would be done immediately, which she did as having private ins.even though given a pain killer was still in pain. Luckily they never had to remove the finger as a plastic surgeon did a fantastic job.
I know there has been cutbacks by the federal gov't of I think 107M. and the Vic,gov't 615M?? yes 615million, seems a hell of a lot to take out of a struggling system. correct me if my amounts are wrong,
It is alright to throw 70odd million into a car race that may benefit a few, which other taxpayers eventually pay for in the long run.
Close Tafe ,the training area for trades etc. privatise it. Millions taken out of the TAC, meaning less funds for accident victims. there is other places where large sums have been taken out.what is going on in Victoria.?
A lot of what you say applies seth. However, It is all part of the normal political practice in Australia. The left wing party wins Government & immediately forgets the limitations of income & spends every penny they can borrow under the financial impossibility of Socialism. Eventually they run out of borrowed funds & start to rein in the shortfall, which they haven't got the knowledge to do. The right wing party wins Government, by default, & commences drastic saving to save bankruptcy. The cycle has been going on State & Federal since Federation. The only thing that is going to save the aged pensioner after the September change over is that any Government that tries to reduce the aged pension is performing political suicide, & they both know it. This Government has managed to indebt every individual in Australia to the tune of around $10,000, apart from the personal borrowings. If I am right about the problems that are near in China, Joe Hockey is going to inherit a major problem in September. Jeff Kennett was probably one of the most unpopular Premiers ever in Victoria, simply because he did what he had to do & restored the State Rating & saved you from bankruptcy. It would be even tougher in NSW if Barry O'Farrel would get on with his unmet promises.
