Night Owls -how much sleep is enough?

I'm a bit of a night owl and sometimes wonder if my inability to fall asleep easily is something I should worry about, it's no good going to bed early imo and tossing and turning for what feels like hours then in the am being ready to fall asleep when it's time to be up and at it so I tend to stay up quite late usually on pc if there's nowt decent on telly and probably get an average of 4or5 hours sleep a night altho' sometimes I might have a 'nanny nap' in the afternoon, anyone else do this?

Yes I have the same problem. I wish that I could just go to bed and get about 8 hours sleep but am usually wide awake at 2am after about 4 hours sleep.

fwd It is all that inanity you spend your time thinking up.  Inanity  = a: lack of substance : emptiness b: vapid, pointless, or fatuous character : shallowness.

Could I suggest some deeper restful thoughts?  That may help. :0)

I mostly get about 4 hours but never have a nanna nap

You guys should try an old, old product called "Horlicks".......you can get it usually at Coles or Woolies in the "tea and coffee" aisle. It is a malt based drink made wth hot milk and you make a cup before retiring. It is a natural product (as far as I know) and should give you a good and relaxing night's sleep without the morning hangover usually associated with sleeping pills etc. One thing if you try it though - put it into an airtight container as it tends to set hard if left in its own container for lengthy periods.

Horlicks! Oh my, I used to be given that as a child back in the UK, I'd forgotten all about that stuff but I remember that I used to hate it, lol, but there again I hated brussel sprouts too and I love them now, guess our tastes change as we get older eh!  I'll give that a try tho', thanks Kfc.
