Crunchy caterpillars

this from UK newspaper:

More than 90kg of dried caterpillars have been found in a man's bag at London's Gatwick airport.

The 22-year-old, who was travelling from Burkina Faso via Istanbul, told border police they were for personal consumption.

The giant haul of insects, discovered last Saturday, was split over four large bags and shrink-wrapped, seemingly for freshness, the Associated Press reported.

It was estimated that there were tens of thousands of the dried insects - the origins of which are unknown.

The caterpillars would be destroyed, officials said.

The Independent asked an insect expert, Stuart Hine, if the insects posed any threat.

He said they were likely to be mopane worms, dried caterpillars of the moth Gonimbrasia belina.

"These are eaten commonly throughout Africa and are already sold through outlets in the UK, so I can't see that there is a tangible threat to our food chain," he said.

The UK warns passengers about bringing food and insects into the country without a permit.

And there was me complaining about having to eat sprouts, lol

What is wrong with freshly fried caterpillars dipped in chocolate, you have the mixture of softness and crispness. some people are just plain fussy eaters.

everyone knows it is not etiquette to dip your caterpillars in chocolate.

The are meant to be coated in tomato sauce.

Zombies prefer tomato sauce, reminds them of what they once had.

Well this wabbit prefers carrots sauteed in cabbage stock with fresh lettuce garnishee ,dried moths ? yuckeee!!!!

There again native Africans and traditional  Aboriginals  know how to live off the land and would never starve, but I 'd be very reluctant to try witchetty grubs i think, 'specially live ones UGH!
