UHT Milk

Do you drink it? Use it instead of fresh milk all the time?

*Kindly no Google sites.  Been there done that as we all can :)

Seems it is just fresh milk heated to a very high tgemperature so no bacteria or organisms in it at all until it is opened SO should be o.k. you think?

We use UHT Oat milk  as recently gone off dairy.

We drink 375ml a day each in our tea.

Soy is good for us one place and deadly the next,  along with Rice Milk - who knows what is good or bad to be honest.

I believe you are right Phyl....if milk boils, it has a "burnt" taste, so they superheat it under high pressure so the bugs die, but it doesnt boil. It used to have a weird taste to it, but these days is hard to distinguish from fresh milk.

I always have some in the cupboard or fridge in case I run out of the fresh stuff.

Thanks Mr. T.

I remember when it had a taste not really acceptable but now it is quite nice.

Although to be honest it took a bit to get used to oat milk in tea (supposed to help keep cholesterol down)

Think I prefer just having the oats as porridge, like kfchugo always keep a carton of UHT in cupboard or sometimes the little cartons for emergency supplies when I just can't get out. Nothing takes like my memories of milk straight from the cow when we had finished milking tho'.

Viv, you bring a tear to my eye.....I remember all to well that "fresh from the cow" milk on the farm. These days, everyone is paranoid and want theirs Pasteurised, homogenised and anything else that is going. I believe it is actually illegal these days to sell untreated milk.....how sad.

Phyl.....We use it and have done so for many years......it's the only milk we use......always buy the Aldi skim milk by the box......we prefer it and have had no problem with it over the years.

No never use the UHT--even the full cream milk is discusting these days--nothing like the true blue milk we used to get

Off topic be warned but just slightly off :)

The Aldi dish wash in a huge bottle for just $1 is fantastic and such a money saver (not for the dishwasher of course)

Plus the huge box of clothes wash for less than $5  works a treat.

I cannot believe sometimes how much money we save shopping at Aldi.

Two years to wait hey Viv.? move down our way as we have them all over the place and in walking distance to us even:)
