Clive is the king of conspiracy theories. He thinks the CIA is funding the Greens and Greenpeace to kill our coal mining industry and believes President Obama is in on it too. Why? To make America's coal more competititve. He says all the Queensland Greens should resign before the election because they are being funded by an offshore power which is tantamount to treason. I think the man's got a screw loose.
I have read that he talks big about Aussie manufacturing needs but his Titanic ship replica is being built in China............I agree toot ......he seems not to be playing with an honest full deck ..........
Hahaha it is hard to take someone serious when they are building a replica of the Titanic. I would have been impressed if he had put those millions to work on some of the policies he is pushing.
He seems to speak a lot of sense BUT with his life in mining I fear for the likes of the Reef etc--and there are a lot of contradictions also --such as he IS getting his ship built O/S
Whatever he may be and says and does, just about anyone would be a better proposition than the two major parties who seem to know more about their opponents' policies than they do their own. That is all they talk about - what the other lot are doing. As for commissioning the building of the Titanic replica - it would probably cost him twice as much if he had it built here. Foolish though it is, imo, to buid this replica, it is his money after all.
If anyone saw Bob Katter and Clive Palmer on Q&A a couple of weeks ago, you would have to be impressed. Without shouting or arguing, between them they managed to put Tony Jones in his place. Tony was not able to impose his opinion on the discussion at all - what a relief. I haven't seen anyone do that so effectively and politely in all the time I have been watching this program.
Hes got better qualifications than Carrot Top and Abbot,in fact i have better qualifications than both and Im only a boilermaker,but we need someone who has had to do hard graft on the coalface,and any person who gives the less fortunate a job and income instead of raping the public purse is ok by me

I'm with you Maggs and I hope a lot of other people will agree. He has a refreshing "back to basics" approach. What we need are successful business people to sort things out. Through smart business dealings, people management skills and commonsense they have built up successful companies. Skills that are needed to run this country.
After all, what we are asking is that our government brings to the job the know how on how to manage money and provide for the inhabitants a country worth living in. The government appoints politicians to ministerial positions that in the real world they would not be qualified to apply for, let alone actually be given the job.
