"Uglyism is a form of discrimination that is rarely spoken of, yet those discriminated against are entirely faultless and it crosses gender, race, age and sexuality."

Yes a very interesting thought indeed,

Wonder how long before a new law is ushered out to cope with it.

Like they brought out a law for Agism - yet ALP is able to discriminate against them on a frequent basis in spite of appointing a Special Minister out of Taxpayer Funds - wonder what this person does to earn her keep - definitely does not look out for the elderly.

Did you read the article Abby?

How the hell or why does Angela Barnes even think she is ugly, very insecure girl but i thought very pretty, but she makes a good point about the better looking you are in this world, then, the further you go.Its shallow but true, and some people are not as asthetically pleasing as others, but so what, you get what you are given and try to do the best you can in life, but i just do not understand why she considers herself ugly,i cant see it!

Oh! Billy

At your age anything her age in a skirt would look good to you

I never really judge that way,she is what she thinks she is,but has probably been brought up with a hard father,my ex was like that, her old man was nothing short of a tyrant, never give his 5 daughters any credit for anything, they all had head problems, the lot of em,low self esteem is a bad thing especially in young girls.I wish her well actually.

If i was still up to it I wouldent mind putting my boots under her bed! LOL

I think she's fishing for compliments, she's obviously wearing make up and looks average to me , maybe she needs to swap shoes with those with real issues

I think she is a comedian personality. Her comedic persona which she uses as a prop and foil, is that of an ugly girl.

I wish she told more of a story, her childhood would of been interesting, but she cant have too much of a problem if she can get up and do standup comedy.

billyknows,

I agree with the writers here.  She is a normal attractive girl. However, she is adopting a persona (which undoubtedly she inflates and physically so) for her comedy routine.

Who was that American female comedian with the husband named "Fang"?  She died not so long ago.

She also sent-up herself.  Just a routine, but very funny.

I got a feelig the its not a routine, methinks she is fair dinkum! Mmmmmm

its one or the other,i might google her name and see if there is anything to it,i dont do facebook so thats hard, she may have a good story to tell.

Yeh ... Looks aren't everythin'

I knew an old salt who used to say "All cats are grey in the dark" ...

...and when i was drunk I used to say.."never went to bed with an ugly woman, but,I woke up with a few!" hawhaw..its a joke.

billy,

This is a respectable site!!!

Phylis Diller was her name Twila and altho' I thought her funny it was the era of 'fat woman' jokes and other derogatory terms that are frowned on these days and I doubt if Angela Barnes will emulate PD's fame in this PC world we have now but who knows, 'spastic' humour may make a comeback?

Just looked into Angela Barnes a bit further i will put a cut and paste link,i will also paste her response to all the comments about her story.

She is definitely not ugly, but is the average pretty girl.

I can't recall her fat jokes ... but know she was self-deprecatery.  But as you say, the world was not PC ...
