Still Got Your Old Vinyl Records, 45's,33's or old 78's?

I still have most of my rock n' roll, folk and hard rock stuff but just dont get around to playing it now, probably worth a few bucks too, music now is so easy to get hold of and listen to that only "die hard fossil's" still get them out and inspect them and wipe them down and play them, but even cd's are getting obsolete, where i live i only get Radio National which is good but more a farmers radio than a music station,i have my ipod in my car for travelling, what a good idea they are, just brilliant!

So anyone still got their old vinyl? and what have you got thats never going to leave your collection!

I have all my old vinyl's plus all the ones my friends offloaded when they found out I was the only one with a record player to use them on!! I have now bought a new turntable that will convert them onto CD.  I found an advert in The Senior newspaper that wants to buy old vinyls so I sorted out about 85 of them and called the guy, but he wasn't interested in coming to get them.  I have such a diverse collection - Rock n roll, classical, blues, jazz and many I have never listened to, because they were donated. Sometimes when going through them, they bring back heaps of memories!

I know that feeling of nostalgia very well,it is always tinged with a little bit of melancholy too,i actually just gave away an old 60's Stereogram,a HMV Radiogram with a turntable, pretty cool bit of furniture, but nobody would buy it,then again i live about 400 klms from Perth!

Just store the music to a file in your computer then you can make Cd's if you want but they are better on I pod. One small little gadet can store thousands of songs and play in your house or car or ear phones.

I love my ipod Davey and i have a massive music file on my PC but i still like my vinyl mate, just sort of brings back memories, having a party and people dancing and the needle jumping around, you end up sellotaping a coin on the arm to stop it jumping off track, good fun days!

I have vinyls and also hundres of tapes--I also have a record player which I don't think I will ever use again--and have used it twice, I put all on a USB to play in the car or on my TV.  I have some 78s and I really intend to get rid of the lot of them

Advertise them on Gumtree, its free if you use the basic ad,all my vinyl is at my sisters in Sydney,I have a few pretty rare rock Albums, very hard to get, last time i looked one was worth USD300,but not to worry,i gave a pile of em to my mates young daughter, she was over the moon.

Yes I should look them out and get rid of them--no use to me I only listen to podcasts that I download --interesting stuff and NO ads

Oh dear! we have a heap of LP's, singles.... The Who... Pink Floyd... Santana and of course lots of C&W from my younger days but they've been stored in  boxes and moved so many times I doubt if they'd be playable now.. among them are some early Beatles singles too which I've been told could be worth a few bob... must haul them out of the shed one of these days ...

Stand them upright Maggs, never store them flat,i will find a link i have somewhere to a website in USA or UK that lists the values,i will look later.
