Super Krill Oil

I have been taking this, together with Glucosamine, for a few months now and have really noticed a difference with my arthritis. It is a good inflammatory and the glucosamine strenghtens the joints. I really do feel much better, as I cannot take antinflammatory tablets this has been the next best thing, for me anyway.

I believe that you are better off only taking medication ordered by your doctor.

I took some cold tablets once that conflicted with my other prescribed pills and almost died.

I take a glucosamine 1000 /choindtron 400 each day ..I used to have an injection eve'ry 6 months for hip bursitus but since taking the Joint formula don't need them anymore ... my dog has 2 a day as well as 4 fish oil caps... half as cheap again as exactly the same ingredients in the stuff supplied by the vet and altho' he also has an injection ev'ry 3 months have saved heaps of money there ( especially when they're on special )

Not a big fan of Krill Oil,i think it has too much antioxidant in it according to studies, too much really for the average human body,i am sure it works and is beneficial to some,I was advised not to use it because it is too powerfull unless really diluted down.

Billy

I had a very good discussion with my pharmacist and we went through all my medications and as this works for me she says it is not interfering with my medications.

Maggs, she also give fish oil to her pets and says it is really good.

The session with the pharmacist was excellent as she explains so much more about medications, what time of day and what reactions they can cause. I was very pleased with my session, and it goes on medicare.

How did you organize it Sheila I think I would like to do the same . I take a mix of blood pressure a statin low dose aspirin fish oil multi vitamin and Q10

Here is an article from a website I visit,

Krill Fish Oil is Not Recommended

What Are Krill?

Krill are a small, shrimp-like crustaceans that inhabit the cold ocean areas of the world. They have become the "latest source" of fish oils, which are supposed to be the best source - here's more information about Krill Oil: Krill Explained.

However, please note that this article recommends Krill oil because it is 48 times better than fish oil, but I disagree with that logic, as explained below.

Krill Oil is Too Powerful

Since Krill oil is 48 times more antioxidant than regular fish oil, and is more highly absorbable than other fish oils, that's a hugh danger signal to me.

Dr. Weston A. Price used cod liver oil successfully, but he also warns not to take too much because it will create imbalances and can even be toxic. That's why my recommendations are conservative, aligning more with Dr. Price's research.

Remember that more is not better! You can overwhelm your body by over-treating it, and by taking too much of a good thing, which can stop or slow down natural healing processes.

One of the important keys to healing naturally is not to push the body. Antioxidants that are too powerful can be detrimental to your health.

This is not a criticism, just another persons opinion, Bee Wilder owns and runs a very popular American Health Website.

Pete my OH's was organised through the Doctors.  It's free for him and the pharmacist is coming for another visit in the next week.  That will be his 2nd.

I think it's once yearly.  It's a Government initiative and they pay the pharmacist to do it.

We are all entitled to our opinions Billy, and what works for one doesn't for another. as I say, it works for me personally.

Pete, the pharmacist I go to regularly has started this new service, maybe you could ask your regular one. It must be a health service to be able to use medicare, but this pharmacist has always been helpful, it is amazing how much they can help and explain the good and bad of medications as many doctors just prescribe a pill recommended by their favourite drug company.

Thanks both I definatley want to see if the mix I take as above has any conflicts . Although I feel terrific no aches or pains .

Yes it's  great idea for people who have to take quite a few different medications.

I would ask your Pharmacist about whether you can get put on the list.  You may or may not depending on what the criteria is and whether your pharmacist wants to do it.  It might only be for those on lots of prescription medicines. It takes about an hour.

Your Pharmacist would probably advise anyway regardless because you don't seem to be taking much.

I think it's a way of the Government trying to cut down on the use of PBS medicines to see if they are being wasted.

Yes maybe I could organize a fifteen minute chat with my chemist.

I do have Chronic lymphatic leukemia which was diagnosed some twelve years ago there are no symptoms and unless it goes rampant no treatment .

You know Sandi i was told by my neurologist a few years ago to avoid grapefruit, seriously, avoid grapefruit juice with certain medications.

Yes Billy, I was also told to avoid grapefruit juice.

And i was not criticising you, just adding my opinion about Krill, nothing to do with the product but the potency, its very strong in antioxidant,my point is too much anything can harm, but i was suprised with the grapefruit,i loved grapefruit but sadly no more!

Yes Billy my OH is on warfarin and that reacts with a lot of different vegetables and fruits so he has to be very careful. We've had two rushes to hospital in the last 12 months cause his blood was so thin and he needed transfusions.  Then it's a bugger for them to get his levels right again.  He goes every 2 weeks to have his blood levels checked so they can either up the dosage or lower it.  We have discovered too that antibiotics can play havoc with his levels even though it's not supposed to.

The only drugs i take are morphine based, not very strong, but just enough to take the pain edge away,so I'm pretty lucky in that regard, but i take a stomach acid type drug Pariet, thats all, like i said, pretty lucky,i supplement with magnesium, vitamin B comlex and Niacin daily, lucky for now!
