Victoria is burning :(

Our home is filled with smoke and the place black as the fires are burning around us in a circle albeit not too close thank goodness but we have never seen anything like this it is horrific. The temp. was 45o and worse than the heat the wind made everything worse and our poor garden has really suffered. The tomato plants have all fallen over and the little green tomatoes just dropping off regardless Peter soaked the ground last night.
SO many homes lost so a garden is the least of many people's worries as they fight
the fires and God bless the firefighters. Fire trucks lost in the fires also
Gippsland where we are is just one area of course as many other places are in dire straits.
The poor native animals. We are doing our best with water out everywhere in the shade
where possible and ice in the bird baths.
If only it would rain. We could all have to move out but not really that likely where we are,
albeit it is coming closer. The wind is still very high.
Phyl.
