On Line Shopping

I have been doing a little online shopping over the past year but I am doing increasingly more. I went to a shopping centre a couple of times recently and found it quite stressfull avoiding shopping trolleys, rude shoppers and unruly children. Most families are great and it is a joy to see happy kids, but as agility becomes a problem so does the stress level.   There are such good bargains on line and often there are very good one day specials.   I still enjoy shopping at my small town centre, and of course Aldi.

they are so lovely abby.  amazing what you can find on the site...i spend ages looking there myself.

.... had to bring this "Topic" back up for the following reasons:-

My son was searching for a really "unique" silver ring on the Internet - he found one from an amazing designer jeweller in Perth W.A.  - he sent me a pic. of the ring via iphone yesterday (here in Melb.) at approx. mid-day -  I said I loved it -  but was up to him blah blah .... and he ordered it! (Mid-day - Melb.)

TODAY - at 4pm. - it was in his mail box!!!!!  It was registered - but the "postie" stuck it in the mailbox!  Only reason my son was home early was -  he is flying out to Cairns on his holidays early tomorrow ....we were totally "gobsmacked" at the amazing service from this website/jeweller from W.A. !!!!  -  24 hours -  and it was in Melb.!!!

Chemist Warehouse - which is 20 mins from me!!!  - took 10 days to send my Revlon make up n perfume to me! Not good!

Woolworths online delivered today to me - all good and amazing quality! I also did all my Xmas shopping online and never had one problem! Lucky maybe? But had no probs.   No wonder some retailers are going down the "gurgler" -   :-)

Foxy if I see something that I like for someone in the family, I buy it as there are always birthdays and Christmas.  That way makes it much easier at Christmas if you shop through the year.

Seeing things out cheap and being able to buy that way can make for better presents.

Online shopping is good but may be a bit of a problem if goods are faulty and need to be returned.

Well so far so good - I have never been disappointed or had to return anything - yet!  Plus there are so very many alternatives/choices online - there is a "mob" called Cafe-press and they do amazing "personalised" gifts as well as an enormous giftware range - I have purchased two things from them - only problem is their delivery was a bit slow but fortunately came in time for what I wanted them for - will know in future to allow more time with them! :-)

A new Independant home  grocery shopping and delivery service has started up in Perth with no connection to the big grocery stores, be interesting to see how well it does prices look pretty competitive with only warehouses rather than stores to maintain it may well become very popular.

Sounds interesting but how are they going to compete price wise with the big Supermarket ?

Especially when Woolworths puts out a Delivery Saver

I bought one for a year as I find very little joy wondering around a Supermarket.and the petrol would cost me more than the cost of the voucher.

Hey Abby thanks for putting the above info. up on here - I must have missed that email (must confess I get so many from them I tend to "skip" over them) - will add it immediately!  Thanks again .....   :-)

I am getting hooked on this online shopping.   I am not spending a great deal at all...mostly small items for myself..bit of jewellery and such  So cheap from overseas and with free shipping it really is a good deal.   Just bought a lovely pair of earrings and a watch with a matching bracelet for just over $6 with free postage.  I would probably spend half that in petrol going to the shops here ;)

Just remembered;   hubby wanted the DVD of Xmas in Vienna with Pavrotti, Diana Ross and Carrera....first came out in the early 90's and hard to get locally, if at all.

Tried before Xmas but no luck but found it on EBay for $19 plus $5 postage.   Had an email from the company two days ago to say that the box of these DVD's had been delivered to them damaged and they could not get a copy to me in the 4 -5 days they promise on their site so they would be happy to refund me the postage.

The item was shipped today and once I receive it I will let them know the date of arrival and I will be refunded the $5...how good is that!
