Help please:

Anyone have any tips on how to clean the glass convection small oven sits on the bench (the round bottom with round lid with the motor in the lid part). I soak the bottom in Vanish NappySan stuff and it comes up sparkling, but the top is such a pain to clean as have to be SO careful of the motor, so no soaking of course or much water around the inside of the top.

I know you are all smart cookies and will help me :)

Phyl,

Maybe if you make a paste of Carb soda with water and wipe it around the lid.  Then you just need a damp cloth to wipe any remaining soda away.

I use this on my stainless steel stove top.

Everytime I use mine I clean it with Huggies whilst it is still warm :)

I have a brand new one (well me being me and with them being on special) no surprise I have a spare lol. I will get straight to the top when I start using the new one. I have let some bake on as I had only been wiping with a warm Vinegar cloth which does the trick to a degree but not sparkling.

Thanks both of you,  er Abby Huggies?

Phyl, if you have let some bake on then put the bi-carb paste on those spots and leave on for  a while and it will rub off easily.

You may need to do it more than once but it will get the baked on stuff off.

Thanks matey. Sounds good to me and will get to it after dinner when it is warm.

Diluted Vinegar in warm water.

If that fails, try turpentine. I'm sure Zapot has plenty in his man cave.

Thanks Sandi. Most is off so have put another thick paste on the other bits and take off tomorrow morn.

Thanks also Solomon, will wash it off with a warm Vinegar cloth :)

Phyl, I just give mine a wipe after I have used and sometimes a go over with window cleaner

Thanks P.B. I think my problem has been "getting the meal out really hot" and leaving the cooker until it was really cold and the stuff sticks of course. I am going to do better :)

And whilst that problem is solved - a teaspoon of Bicarb in a glass of water room temp daily cleans the bodies systems too.  In fact Bi carb is a super cleaner.

And prof in Italy reckons cleans cancer as he discovered it to be fungus and is Emerit Prof in Oxycology so no dummy.

And see it in Eno's, Movicol, Urals and lots more medicines as basic ingredient so has to be ok for us.

I like the taste of it too. Can always add a bit of lemon juice for flavour as that too daily is good for digestion and although think of it as acidic it actually clears out any over acid in your stomach and sorts out your PH balance.

Amazing what the internet does for our health and no wonder they are wanting to control it eh. Means we are more self informed. And not just on health either.

Thanks Val - very interesting

Thanks Val. my Mum was a believer a teaspoon in water was a help for heartburn also.

Err canno't say I like the taste lol BUT your post as it being a cleanser, sounds good. I would think maybe not to often? Once a week maybe?.

Val. I googled as we do, :) and now Peter and I are taking a small spoon of bi-carb with a couple of small spoons of 100% pure Maple Syrup and stirred into warm water  twice a day for many things ail any of us and as a preventative. Read up on the cancer bit VERY interesting

Thanks matey.

Sandi, Thanks for the bi-carb info. I would now win first prize for the most sparkling lid (already had the bowl sparkling as I could take it to the sink and fill it with hot water) yes I do have the ability for the machine to kind of clean itself :) but not to my liking. But the lid I did no more than wipe over as I was scared of getting close to the motor. The bi-carb did the trick with a bit of elbow grease.

Yes it's great Phyl.  I have to use it on my stainless steel top stove.  You can't use anything on there as it scratches.  It's a real pain and if I could have my time over I would never have a stainless steel topped stove.  If it was like the stainless steel sink it would be different as you can just wipe that over, but the stove isn't shiny like the sink and the slightest spill on it stains even water.

Thank God I didn't get a stainless steel refrigerator.  You would see every mark on it.

Think the best thing for a stove is the baked enamel.  So easy to clean and keep clean.
