Yes it is sad Pixapd left before we could find his secret

Seggie. Not a hope in Hades would I ever be able to save $600 a month unless everyone invited me to meals, did my washing and paid most of my bills.  Being born in the depression days, I learned very quickly from my mother as I grew up, not to buy what I didn't need. What I want is a different kettle of fish. My bucket list is not that big these days and if I don't get any of the them, it won't worry me.

Seggie

Phyl always is saving by buying good specials.

Seggie again. Hi Abby. Like Phyl., I love Aldi's as I find I can shop more cheapily there though on the odd occasion, I have to shop at the other supermarkets. Where did PIXAPD go? I'd love to know the secret of saving $600 every month from a pension. I thought I was quite good at being careful but obviously, (laughing now), lots I don't know. Love to all.

Its about 1680 bucks for 4 weeks , 840 a fortnight . Now if not rent then its rates and utilities that are unavoidable for most . Food of course and variables like a car , insurance home and health and clothes . Thats without the cost of repairs or replacement of household goods and entertainment/amusement which might be a counter lunch or a movie . Raffle tickets or a donation for charity , plants for the garden , lawn mower etc etc etc . Something does not compute with 600 a month savings . There must be a supplement income not mentioned .

I ‘save‘ just a few dollars under $1200 every 6 months by taking out my full advance loans. Which gives almost $2400 a year in advance loans. As I am extremely frugal I usually save $600 a year on top of that, that is $25 a fortnight. Which gives me $3000 a year. I get $91 a fortnight taken out by Centrelink in advance loan repayments all through the year. But what you don‘t see, you don‘t miss.

I get all my utilities, water, electricity and gas taken out fortnightly too so I don‘t have large quarterly bills to worry about. I don‘t have a car and I live in public housing who take my rent out fortnightly. I have a prepaid mobile with a good deal, same with my prepaid usb broadband for my notebook.

I use the savings for big items or rainy day not for everyday spending.

I don‘t have a landline and like KMART and Aldi. I got a toasted sandwich maker from Kmart for $7.50. Flimsy, lightweight plastic but does the job. The clothes there are cheap too. I did need a big purchase of gym and swim gear this month. I got the exercise capri pants, singlet and trainers for $12 each and the one piece swimsuit was $25 and they all are comfortable and look trendy.

I know where smart shopping is concerned I am one "Clever Cookie" whistle white cloud

At "the NQR shop ( near Geomac's  place) I bought >>Ital Authentics Salute biscuits with bran" for >>drum Roll here just 99c a 200g packet. SO what is SO great about these? well they are chunky, keep a person regular :) AND just 28 calories per biscuit and not a cheap biscuit at it's real price, and curb the appetite. Made my day lol.

Yes we are the proud owners of 40 packets

Have to add we bought one packet and sat in the car and had half a bickie. each and both said "yummy" as they smell and taste of chocolate.
