Bill has finally had to sell WinPatrol for family reasons but its OK

Read the new owners promises. And if yu dont already run WinPatrol you should. Guards you from any changes, many opthers do - but Bill's has always been more reliable and free.

Link to Bill's blog and New Owners promises

Maybe also if you are already running it new version first one out from new owner - also promises no tool bars or sneaky bits which can b*gger up your computer or spy etc as many have succumbed to the almighty dollar earned by so doing.

In this century second decade what a lovely thing to find people 2 of them ho still have morals and ethics in the face of the greed far too many display.

Only reason why I recommend them here and wise to put this on if not already. I have used it for many years, never had a problem with this and other parts of security and beleive me its getting more and more dangerous by the hour let alone the day all for the sake of the almight dollar. Pinching ours to add to their own.

Sad eh.

Here is link to getting latest newest version.

You'll never regret it.

BTW if you are already switched on enough to run it, do tell as so often people post tech news for the good of the community here and no one acknoledges they even read it let alone think it helpful.

I don't have this program so cannot rate it. So I checked with cnet to see how they rated it. They said "WinPatrol is a security program intended to help clean up your computer and protect against spyware, worms, and other things that might harm it or slow it down.

This security software is certainly not for the novice computer user. It's different from other software that typically scans for threats, and that's where it can get confusing. If you know an above-average amount of information about computers, you'll probably find certain tabs -- like Startup Programs and Delayed Start -- useful, but it's going to take a period of learning to really know what to do with ones like Cookies, File Types, and Hidden Files. This software does offer some Internet security, which we appreciated. The alert sound (dog barking) is cute but annoying after a while. Fortunately, that can be turned off. There's also a Help page for every tab -- though some of the tabs are not available in the free version -- and much of the information and instructions are written in a witty style, so even though you're taking in a lot of new information it won't be too boring or highbrow to understand. You're just simply not going to be able to enjoy the full benefits of this software right away, however, if you don't know much about the inner workings of your computer.

The download process was easy and simple. There weren't any problems while installing, either, so we're willing to give this a good rating."

I use SUPERAntispyware every evening before I close the PC and am very happy with it - been good to me for years.

WinPatrol is not a security programme, never was. I have had the programme for many years and what it is designed to do it does very well.

It is now called Ruiware and those who want the correct information about the programmme should go to the following site at BillP Studios as it was originally named.
