FEDERAL MPs have spent millions of dollars of taxpayers' money on business class airfares, study tours, chauffer driven cars and decking out their offices with the latest and greatest technologies and swank office fitouts.

Topping the list was former Prime Minster Kevin Rudd who managed to rack up more than $500,000 in less than three months.

Several Federal MPs enjoyed a host of overseas study tours in the months leading up to last year's election with destinations including Switzerland, Italy, United States, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Peru and France.

The Expenditure on Entitlements report revealed Prime Minister Tony Abbott's expenses included $157,000 in overseas flights, $15,000 on domestic flights, $14,000 on flights for his family and $208,000 in office administration.

The report, which covers the six-month period from July 1 to December 31 last year, showed Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss charged taxpayers $193, 969 for office administrative costs and $13,459 for travel for his family.

Health Minister Peter Dutton's family was afforded $28,584 in taxpayer-funded travel, the largest amount of any Queensland MP or senator behind Kevin Rudd's family who scored $20,434.

Disgraced former speaker Peter Slipper charged taxpayers $8647 for chauffer driver cars and Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane billed taxpayers $39,866 to be driven around.

Federal Member for Fairfax Clive Palmer, who spruiks he is a man of the people , has asked taxpayers to reimburse him $511 in car travel, $412 for phone calls, $1072 in domestic flights, $4185 for office fitout and $25,060 to operate his office.

Appalling!  Disgusting!! How can this be allowed??   - say no more.................

I was also interested to see Clive Palmer (who tells everyone he does not take a salary but gives it to charity...does he really???) still managed to put in for reimbursement as shown.  Surely they are paltry amounts for a billionaire to claim??

Must be a Tax reason Radish or he needs it for the Chinese claim.

Vivity, I do believe this business with the Chinese company could be his downfall.  It is now before the courts and I await the proceedings with interest.

Phoney Tony is just as bad especially as he would have repeated at least twice that it was "  for the benefit of my constituents, my constituents" Wonder if there is a special condition in those who who constantly repeat their words?

I think it's because Phoney Tony has to think so hard in order to avoid saying something stupid. He has to "um" and "ah" and repeat words while his brain catches up with what to lie about with his next sentence.

Yes you got that right Robi -- and we have this bloody fool to lead our

country !!!

He repeats and he STILL makes a mess of it !
