Bring back Kevvie

Seeing as the Liberals are doing such a bad, bad job, maybe we should bring back Kevvie.  Wayne Swan gives him a good wrap ..not!

There is not one of the two parties that I could vote for at this time--plus I don't like party politics --and not having a mind of ones own.  However we do need to get rid of this bloody fool we have now

I vote for a party not one one person.   I am fed up to the back teeth with ALL politicians of ALL persuasions but  someone has to run the country.

Well they are supposed to be running it now and they were supposed to ruinning it when Julia was in too but they spent to much time bitching between the parties.

We want a fair Government not this facist mob

Plus of course the 200 million he made from John Howard privatising centre link ...

I hope you dont think my comment was fair dinkum Abby  LOL.

I loathed the man from day one.  It was "all about me".  The man has a problem and needs therapy.

Dunno Radish - he just may have been better than Shorten ????

Of course Libs would do a lot better with somebody like Cori Bernadi

but guess Abbot would consider him too much threat to put him at the front table.

"Kevvie" was a nasty trumped up  "nutter'   !!!!!

"Kevvie" was like so many other politicians. He got himself plenty of media coverage to keep his name before the people, he ingratiated himself on programs like "Sunrise" and wormed his way into peoples hearts and confidence.  As always with politicians, he only showed his true colours when elected to a position of power - seems like a familiar pattern with our budding politicians. They always build our expectations, then manage to disappoint.

Worming his way in should be regarded as a massive achievement. It was masterstroke to reach the top in a milieu monopolised by factional alliegiances and he was outside all of them, all alone (except for Kochie). Whitlam is the only other person I know of that got the top job on his own, but thru brilliance not as a performing seal on a low brow news show.

At any rate, we all know this Kevin 07 story had sweet beginning, a period of degeneration followed by a catastrophic ending. OHMG, there was even a brief resurrection, another demise and now uneasy memories. Twas a real shame and disappointment to have this promising nurdy bloke, and not a factional leader, prove himself inept through serious personal inadequacies. If only he went to strip clubs more often!

Come back Kevvie..we need your prowess in Mandarin to speak to the Chinese! Clive has landed us right in the noodle soup!!

Abby, a search online re Bill Shorten uncovers a lot ;)

Where is the alleged rape case at...

See Pickering. He invents a lot of that kind of rubbish for his fervent followers.

Don't know about bringing back Kevvie Radish but I do agree with you that " the Liberals are doing such a bad, bad job".

quote pete "Where is the alleged rape case at..."

The answer is right here .

Four hours ago this came out.

"Labor leader Bill Shorten has broken his silence after being cleared by the Victorian Police of damaging rape allegations dating back to the 1980s.

In a move designed to put the issue behind him, Mr Shorten said the investigation had been concluded and "there is absolutely no basis to the claims".

Mr Shorten avoided directly naming what the allegations against him were.

"I freely answered all the questions that the police asked of me. Now the police investigation is concluded, I can make this statement. The easy option would be to say nothing, but that is not who I am," he said.

"This has been deeply distressing for my family. I'm thankful for the love and support of Chloe and the support of my staff and parliamentary colleagues."

"Others who are aware of the investigation have acted with the utmost integrity by leaving the police to do their job."

The investigation began in October last year after a complaint was made to police.

The woman who brought the allegation, who is now a nurse, said the incident took place at a Young Labor camp near Geelong back in 1986.

Explaining his decision to go public, Mr Shorten said he would not go into the details of the allegation, "except to say that the allegation was untrue and abhorrent. The allegation was made by someone that I knew briefly at that time."

"The police have now concluded the investigation. The decision speaks for itself. It is over. I have no intention of making any further comment," he said.

"In all fairness, I am entitled to draw a line on this."

Mr Shorten said he learned about the allegation late last year and that it dates back to when he was 19. The claim had been made on social media, he said, after he had been elected Opposition Leader.

Victoria Police issued a statement about the results of their investigation on Thursday afternoon:

"Victoria Police can confirm that a report of an alleged historical sexual assault has been investigated by police. Investigating police sought advice from the Office of Public Prosecutions, which advised there was no reasonable prospect of conviction. All parties have been notified that Victoria Police will not be proceeding with criminal charges."

Bill Shorten's statement:

Late last year I learned that a claim had been made about me, going back to when I was 19. It was made on social media when I was elected Opposition Leader.

I will not go into the details, except to say that the allegation was untrue and abhorrent. The allegation was made by someone that I knew briefly at that time. There is absolutely no basis to the claim.

The claim has now been thoroughly and vigorously investigated by the police as is entirely proper. I fully cooperated to clear my name and that is what I've done.

I freely answered all the questions that the police asked of me. Now the police investigation is concluded, I can make this statement.

The easy option would be to say nothing, but that is not who I am. I want to address this myself directly.

This has been deeply distressing for my family. I'm thankful for the love and support of Chloe and the support of my staff and parliamentary colleagues.

Others who are aware of the investigation have acted with the utmost integrity by leaving the police to do their job.

The police have now concluded the investigation. The decision speaks for itself. It is over. I have no intention of making any further comment. I'm happy to take questions.

Thank you Gerry and Raddish. I hope Pete and Abby now have the decency to say nothing more in the way of implicating Bill Shorten as guilty of this trumped up allegation.

Shorten was arrested so we were entitled to ask what was happening now he is cleared good ..,,

Glad you're happy Pete. Nothing more to say....

...geez - just saw this - they still banging on about this? Unbelievable! lol

Were banging on Foxy.....were.....but no more :) :) :)

That's what got him in trouble in the first place

then he moved on to Roxon

Don't care what he did with Roxon if anything Solomon. Mutually consenting relationships are not interesting. Was more interested in why Malcolm Fraser was found with his pants missing in an Asian hotel years ago. Now that WAS fun.

Sent it to the dry cleaners ?

Of course. A Lib wouldn't play up. What about libertarians Solly baby? You squeaky clean?

Yes that was a good one Robi :)

Yes I can just imagine Frazer wondering around the Memphis hotel lobby in a dazed state with his trousers missing.

Robi is the one who's dazed. She thinks Memphis is in Asia.

Shorten is very untrustworthy manipulator - he managed to stab both Gillard and Rudd in the back in such a short time.

Geesh! and they were from the same party ???
