Cops arrive 15 seconds later man shot dead in USA town

The video seems unreal because the arrival and shooting by the cops happens so quick . This is not the shooting that is causing the demonstrations in the USA its another one . What was the reason used to justify having tasers again ?

Geoff :)

So far we are very lucky it is happening there and not here.

Abby

Yes we are . Even when we had nine shootings in Victoria it was not common , by cops . I read another story related to this that was a shocker . Cops did a raid without warrant ( none needed ) lobbed a stun grenade into room and it landed on a nine month old baby . Parents were not the intended target nor was the target in the house . Parents now face 800,000 in medical bills and father cannot work now because of injuries received by cops in raid . The intended target was a nephew of the family that let the victim family stay in their garage/shed . They were sleeping there because fire wrecked their home . The state has reneged on paying medical bills for wrong or misdirected raid after saying they would . A real horror story .

Lucky we don't live in Russia

I am a Russian sitting on my … I am 50, a mother of a son 26. Do you know how many Russians have died since 1989? Nobody knows exactly – but hundreds of thousands, maybe more – about 150 000 children have been adopted by foreigners, hundreds of thousands women have been sold to brothels. All last European wars (including a Yugoslavian one) have been arranged by the KGB/FSB in order to hide the fact now enormously big the amount of dead Russians is. Post-Soviet migration could disguise the population decrease but well-being is – a paradox! – the time when you can count dead ones. So there is room only for permanent chaos. Don’t blame us – your country probably is afraid of conflicts with the oligarch’s/FSB’s Russia too. Your government has got the army, the police, the secret services. I have got my son. Will you notice his death? Or diffamation? Will you protect us? Believe me – they have come this time for your soul. Do not criticise Russians! Do something

Or China

Rapid socio-economic change in China has been accompanied by relaxation of some restrictions on basic rights, but the government remains an authoritarian one-party state. It places arbitrary curbs on expression, association, assembly, and religion; prohibits independent labor unions and human rights organizations; and maintains Party control over all judicial institutions.

The government censors the press, the Internet, print publications, and academic research, and justifies human rights abuses as necessary to preserve “social stability.” It carries out involuntary population relocation and rehousing on a massive scale, and enforces highly repressive policies in ethnic minority areas in Tibet, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia. Though primary school enrollment and basic literacy rates are high, China’s education system discriminates against children and young people with disabilities. The government obstructs domestic and international scrutiny of its human rights record, insisting it is an attempt to destabilize the country.

Am I missing something Pete/whoever ?

My thread is not a competition to see which country is the worst or equal in removing civil rights . Its about the lack of control and correct protocols by police in the land of the free . Its about the gun mentality as well to an extent that its seen as a quick fix . Its about a country we relate to in many ways and how we must resist the same casual approach to human life .

Yes and I am replying to show that by comparison the lack of control and correct protocols  in the land of the unfree is appalling....thank goodness we don't relate to them in any way but to our cousins who fight for justice.

Have no idea what you are talking about , sounds like a draft for superman .

Oh I am sure some lucky ones emigrated from isle of Skye to the US ...maybe even become policemen...

Large-scale emigration from Sleat probably began at much the same time as in the rest of Skye. This was the early 1770s when emigration from Skye to North America really began. The favoured destination was North Carolina.

Maybe that cop was a relative of yours

I think you are referring to the period when from memory the clearances were done , removal of rent farmers etc . I imagine Canada , Australia and the USA had an influx of Scottish immigrants . I traced my family tree back to 1730 and left it at that . My original intent was to go back to arrival in Australia and find out from where which I achieved . The rest was trivia in a sense  as though interesting was not my central objective . Lot of work involved and no short cuts .

Yes I am back into the 1620s in Cornwall . Then I can see via the Mormons that we came over to the UK with the Normand who were Norsemen ...

The family whose child was hurt so horrifically by this no knock police assault had no connection to the individual police were seeking.  They were from Wisconsin, and just happened to be in the Atlanta area visiting their sister-in-law.  Certainly, there was no need by the local police to carry out a military style assault on the home at three o'clock in the morning merely to arrest a low level drug dealer.

Officers were executing a search warrant after a confidential informant claimed he bough $50 in drugs from a 20-year-old who lived at the residence, where the boy’s family had been staying since their own house burned down.

At the time, the police chief, Rick Darby, made a bunch of excuses for what happened, though he did say his SWAT team members were "very broken up about the incident."  Well, apparently that sympathy for the family and their wrongfully wounded baby boy has its limits, at least as far as the Halbersham County officials are concerned.  Though the family has no means to pay for the medical expenses of their child's stay at two separate hospitals, the county is holding firm and defending their decision not to "make things right" for this innocent child who suffered so grievously from the actions of their militarized police force which could have easily  arrested the alleged drug dealer  without the necessity of what amounts to a military attack on US citizens.

What is your point in discussing a police raid in the US except to try and cast the US in a poor light .. Pretty pathetic really..

Yes you would think that . Thats what is pathetic , your limited scope to think outside your very small bubble .

Solly/pete has a weird question or just a weird person ? Maybe thats what trolls ask or how they think .The species is a bit of a mystery to me . I can never work out if its about look at me syndrome or disrupt and annoy behaviour . Maybe a mixture of both . One thing I do know is that the contribution value is close to nil and entertainment value is zero . Well as an amateur gardener I know a garden needs manure or fertilizer . Trolls live in a desert depite spouting fertilizer all over the place . A weird species indeed .

The musings of an amateur gardener.

It's good to sit among the flowers and think about life. Sometimes one should empty the mind of all thought and fill it with "the moment"

When you are in the moment, then you have arrrived

I was a Buddist once...

Then what happened - you saw the light?

No it was the reincarnation bit , I asked my teacher omm where all the new people come from.

He said that there were an infinite number of souls some being only carnate for the first time..These lacked experience and were the troublemakers ..and socialists .

You have to be gentle with the young souls. It takes at least 38 reincarnations before they move from socialists to enlightened libetarians.

I remember 50 lifetimes ago, when I was a fisherman on the Dead Seas of Jordan, my thought processes were still very primitive, much like Geoff's is now.

Give them time, my son

It seems indecent to witness a troll fornicating with itself if thats the correct term . Up itself ?  Brings back memories of that wanker thread the soulless trio indulged in . What was that tripe called ? Human something , detrious , sewage , thought bubbles ? Ahh got it verbal diarrhea .

Is that why Geomac plays with male dolls

petesol

Oh Geof you gave away another of your imaginary male dolls .. For a cold hearted Atheistic ex catholic bachelor boy it must be hard ?

Meanwhile back at the ranch military type cops are shooting civilians in the USA under the guise of law and order . I remember the argument for tasers was how it would negate the need to draw a gun . Now its draw a gun and save the tasers for later . Maybe its because tasers dont go bam bam when fired ?

Gee still critising your cousins in the good ol USA  but no mention of the thousands of murders by Putins thugs  strange logic . But then ..,,

Geomac you keep putting up here your men dolls why is that?

The increase in police brutality in this country is a frightening reality. In the last decade alone the number of  people murdered by police has reached 5,000. The number of soldiers killed since the inception of the Iraq war, 4489.

What went wrong? In the 19070’s SWAT teams were estimated to be used just a few hundred times per year, now we are looking at over 40,000 military style “knock and announce” police raids a year.

The police presence in this country is being turned into a military with a clearly defined enemy, anyone who questions the establishment.

If we look at the most recent numbers of non-military US citizens killed by terrorism worldwide, that number is 17. You have a better chance of being killed by a bee sting, or a home repair accident than you do a terrorist. And you are 29 times more likely to be murdered by a cop than a terrorist!

Often these no-knock raids take place at night, accompanied by “flash-bang” grenades designed temporarily to blind, deafen and confuse their targets. They can go horribly wrong: Mr Balko has found more than 50 examples of innocent people who have died as a result of botched SWAT raids. Officers can get jumpy and shoot unnecessarily, or accidentally. In 2011 Eurie Stamps, the stepfather of a suspected drug-dealer but himself suspected of no crimes, was killed while lying face-down on the floor when a SWAT-team officer reportedly tripped, causing his gun to discharge.

Householders, on hearing the door being smashed down, sometimes reach for their own guns. In 2006 Kathryn Johnston, a 92-year-old woman in Atlanta, mistook the police for robbers and fired a shot from an old pistol. Police shot her five times, killing her. After the shooting they planted marijuana in her home. It later emerged that they had falsified the information used to obtain their no-knock warrant.

What not one wrong olive action from any other country , not even Aussie .Russia China just The US would you like me to prove the US is quite socialist would that help your phobia ...

Since the individual is the best judge of his own interests, and at least as a rule seeks to do what it is in his interest to do and to avoid doing what harms his interest, it follows that the greater the extent of government intervention, the greater the extent to which individuals are prevented from doing what benefits them and are instead compelled to do what causes them loss.

Today, in the United States, government spending, federal, state, and local, amounts to almost half of the monetary incomes of the portion of the citizenry that does not work for the government. Fifteen federal cabinet departments, and a much larger number of federal regulatory agencies, together, in most instances with counterparts at the state and local level, routinely intrude into virtually every area of the individual citizen's life. In countless ways he is taxed, compelled, and prohibited.

The effect of such massive government interference is unemployment, rising prices, falling real wages, a need to work longer and harder, and growing economic insecurity. The further effect is growing anger and resentment.

Though the government's policy of interventionism is their logical target, the anger and resentment people feel are typically directed at businessmen and the rich instead. This is a mistake which is fueled for the most part by an ignorant and envious intellectual establishment and media.
