NUTRiBULLET

Have you seen this machine advertised on tele.?.

Seems really good to us (but we are "new tec. machine junkies") lol.

Every bit of what is put in it, is useable, re seeds and stems snd nuts and the list goes on and on and on :) and it makes a juice or soup and stew addition with nothing being wasted, so all the fibre is used instead of throwing all that away, and also such an easy clean up.

Oh yes we have the  ordinary bullet and smoothie maker, and milk shake maker and in fact ask us and we probably have it - er somewhere :(

Thing is, every age and maybe even moreso Seniors, do well with good nutrition and "so could the Nutribullet be a miracle?

Google it, and lets hear what others think. I am pretty sure we will have one very soon lol.

Good for femmes sick of cooking pots of veges. all the time, and for blokes as er some do not bother cooking and eating veges. and fruits. SO EASY to use and clean, it appears.

Phyl - get yourself a Thermomix and you won't need any other gadget in your kitchen

I have heard people talking on "how good the Thermomix is" Soloman, but with just the two of us I sometimes feel like not cooking, but have to admit Peter still wants that cooked dinner every night and as I have accommodated this I do :)

Zapot should trade you in for a better model. One that cooks adecent meal every night

Phyl, I personally think it just another fad - truth is that it is just anoither blender with higher rotation speed. To my mind, all you are doing is pulping everything to make it easier to swallow. If we eat nuts and seeds etc, it is fairly uncommon to see much of it pass through us and be "wasted'. Rely on that old axiom - "trust your gut"

I think that all they hype about creating "super foods" is just that - commercial hype to prompt you to buy the product. I had an old friend that used to laugh at people buying pop-corn makers, egg poachers, deep fryers et.c, etc. - he used to say "all you need is a pot" and really, he was quite right. Still, to each their own......we all spend our money as we please and that is precisely as it should be.

I hear you my friend, and I know I (and Peter lets me have anything my heart desires) have heaps of things I never use, because I was "sucked in" (had fun buying them though) but I really really feel in my "toe" which knows when it is going to rain, :) the Nutribullet is different, as we would use such things as kale, and things we really do not eat, as everything can go into the machine and we may be absolutely "jumping out of our skin" ie seeds etc.

Kfc your friend would have a great giggle if he was left to roam my cupboards lol. I am sure he has a point.

There is a u-beaut shop in Mid Valley recently opened not far from us, which sells things advertised on tele. much cheaper, and of course can check out before buying. I will wait awhile and see if it comes in there.

I do not want to waste around $165 for a piece of junk.

Seggie. There is a Thermomix in our family and it does make great dips and fabulous soups. Easier though for me to buy a tin of good quality soup or on the odd occasion, the packet of Continental. When I'm 'gifted' with Thermo.cooked fruits, they are far too mushy for my liking but not for me to say no. I mix them with vanilla icecream, use an icecream cone and use Choc.Freeze on top. Yum.

Whatever works for each of us Seggie.

Always good to see you and you look fit and healthy and happy.

Phyl, I looked at a few sites, and I have to agree with Kfchugo.   There are so many blenders on the market, and Nutribullet and Ninja are just spending the most on advertising.

Just as a matter of interest, I can't help wondering what it costs for the weeks and weeks of advertising on the shopping channels.

Just think, we could all have perfect lives if we bought a Shark vac or  a steam cleaner whose name escapes me, all the skin care products and clothes on TVSN, the modern pressure cooker flogged by the American Chef, the stone frypans from two or three different companies, etc etc.    LOL  that's a joke.

By the way has anyone noticed they flog all this stuff on the shopping channels, with a 'special offer for the viewers', which is only a test run... and then a few months later, they're being pushed out the door of the chain stores at half the price?

So, Phyl, my advice, hang on for a while and then look out for  what you want at Harris Scarfe or any of the big stores.

I saw the full set of Stonedine at Harris Scarfe for half price a few months ago.

Yes Kody

I.ve noticed quite a few of the infommercial  products at Bid W but not checked out the prices - as I usually switch the TV off when they come on.

Phyl

I do not think Nutribullet does soup and stew.

I think Viv might have a Thermomix, the one Solomon suggests and that is really very expensive - but if it is any better than Kogan Soupmaker if is hard to tell.

I've fot a magic Bullet which I've had for 5 years and am very happy with it - have had to replace the seals. My neighbour has a George Foreman Mix&Go bought from Target under $40 and it also liquifies all fruit an vegetables ....has 12 month warranty and has a recipe booklet

I have bought some very good specials at Harris Skarfe, Kody, with recently when my Kenwood very sadly completely "gave up the ghost" we looked at Harris Skarfe as it is in our hometown of Traralgon, and was thrilled to see a Russel Hobbs mixer and blender (all in one) for $249 against their real price of $549 and I love it. Actually was in there this morn. and the price is now back up to $549.

er I like being a member of TVSN but do have a lot of stuff we really do not use or need. I am turning over a new leaf after the bullet, lol but we do still love our big massage chair and running machine and vibration platform and a few other things we bought there.

As kfc said, we all get our kicks from spending our hard earned money how we choose and we have fun and love our life.

Good for you Phyl.   My post is meant to be lighthearted.

Frankly, I often find TVSN more interesting than some of the rubbish on the other channels.

Happy shopping.

Ummm Phyl, I have to admit I like gadgets think coming over to play at your house would send me into 7th heaven.

Seriously my Thermomix is fantastic .... And I thought for 2 years, went to different friends houses who had one realised it would take the place of a heavy duty Mixer (which I did not have) could knead bread (I don't have a bread maker) could replace my pressure cooker which i had  become unable to open, don't have a soup maker but  it's good at that too, can make egg custard and risottos and which it does all the stirring and cooking at the right temperatures also great at fruit sorbets! Chops  up salads, makes Dips etc etc.  All up I am very happy with it.

Still have a Bullet which is great for small smoothies. Also still need a coffee grinder that is one thing that needs solo use. I also still use my slow cooker.

I have not used my Magic Bullet much Abby (bad me) and I have had mine for a few years but the NUTRiBULLET is different as you can put seeds and stems etc. into it and then add it all to soups casseroles etc and also drink as many veges as wanted as a drink as you add some water.

600 is a good speed. We always look at Big W's T.V. offers and the goods are the same price as T.V. but less the postage.

I have used my big Breville Juicer for years but abhor the waste of all the fibre and the work taking it all apart for cleaning, so thought the NUTRiBULLET might just be "The Bees Knees" (and yes as you are all saying) maybe/probably a waste of space and money.

Thanks folks opinions are great.

I make fruit and vegetable juices in my Magic Bullet using the four blades - just chop fruit and vegs into chunks, add a litle water to the container than add fruit and veg chunks to make the flavour I like.

Then drink it out of the same cup having added a rim to the cup. There is no waste of fibre as it all gets chopped into minute pieces.

I even grind coffee beans with the smaller container.

Went to have a look at the watage and it is only 300W and my unit is the Amazing Bullet not he Magic Bullet - Dumb Me :)

Still in the box never used is a blender and ajuice extractor - I purchased it on eBay for $50 - it was a refurbished model.

Phyl :)

Do not know how much the Nutribullet is on the TV but I got this in the email today

http://www.vipweeklydeals.com/shop/600w-nutribullet-12-piece/

Thanks Abby. I have not seen the ad. again even though we are watching out for it, but I am sure it was $150 same as the one you have shown, plus I think $15 postage whereas yours shows $7 postage, but I only pay by Pay Pal or cheque but says pay by credit card and even though a promise of delivery before Christmas they will bill the credit card immediately.

Hoping Big W get them in.

Phyl, when you eventually get your Nutribullet, dont forget to keep us informed if you and Peter are "jumping out of your skins" with good health - who knows, I might even buy one.

Saw an interesting quote today "good health is just the slowest possible rate at which one can die". :)

Absolutely will do kfc :) If you have seen the ad. for it, it really does seem amazing :)

Who knows just what could happen for us after using the

NUTRiBULLET

Cut things fine and use your god given teeth...much better for you

The fire breathing dragon wears dentures

Phyl, Have you purchased a Nutri Bullet yet ???  I want something for processing peanuts and wondered how good it was.

This is what CHOICE had to say

Sandi

Phyl said on the other thread that apparently Nutribullet posed a safety risk,

Source

There is a 900w now Sandi which if I was buying the NutriBullet I would go for, if wanting to crunch nuts. The jury is still out for me whether it is safe or not - seems it would have to be.

Tomorrow Harris Scarffe has the "Ninja" 700w on good special (where we got the great deal on the Russell Hobs mixer and blender. I think the blender on this is fine for what I want, BUT still weighing up spending just $99 to buy the Ninja which is apparently normally around $250.

Decisions decisions. ) Farmers Market here Sat. morn. good fun.

I purchased the Nutribullet about a month ago on the recommendation of a friend.

Have seen all the TV ads on it.

Please, please, when you purchase any appliance DO read the instructions before use.

I noticed in one review on line that someone did not put any water in and wondered why she had problems.  You  MUST put liquid in whether it be water or milk or whatever...I am sure most of the ladies in here would have the sense to do that anyway.

Also make sure you have the contained screwed on tightly before you place it on the blades.  If you dont do this you will get liquid into the motor.  I am very, very careful about  this and I have had no problems .

I use it once a day and use kale or spinach from the garden and mix and match with other veges and fruit etc.   Heaps of recipe ideas in the books which come with it.

Yes, it is expensive and maybe there are other things on the market such as the Ninja.

I have two blenders and a food processor and could not get the liquididation that I am getting with the Nutribullet.

Also there is another blade that comes with it which is for chopping up nuts etc.

But dont let me talk you into buying one...do your own research and make up your own minds girls :)

I bought a Nutri Bullet and yes it does what it says --and is easy to clean, however I did not like the texture of the "smoothies" felt like a fine sand in my mouth,  my  Son and other friends that have it and use it and love it.  I prefer to use the "juicer" as it is has no residue, ( so you do throw away the fibre)

The other thing that has to be considered that seeds in some fruit like apple can be toxic.
