Jackie Lambie on Insiders this morning.

Barrie Cassidy had Jackie Lambie in a spin when he asked her what Sharia law meant.

Was embarrassing to watch her answer.

Not being all that sure of it myself I had a read online and came across an interesting snippet.

"Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam."

When you investigate what Taqiyya means it says:

"Taqiyya is a concept and a reality that non-Muslims must bear in mind when reading or listening to the words of Muslims.

Taqiyya (also spelled taqiya or taqiyyah) is lying to advance Islam and/or to prevent harm to Muslims (taqiyya literally means "prevention").

Muslims justify taqiyya from the Quran, other Islamic texts and the example set by Muhammad, including the following:

"The Apostle said...'Who will rid me of Ibnul Ashraf?' Muhammad bin Maslama, brother of the Bani Abdul-Ashaf, said, 'I will deal with him for you, O Apostle of Allah, I will kill him.' [Muhammad] said, 'Do so if you can... All that is incumbent upon you is that you should try.' [The Assassin] said, 'O Apostle of Allah, we shall have to tell lies.' He answered, 'Say what you like, for you are free in the matter.'" - Ibn Ishaq, The Life of Muhammad, page 307

When non-Muslims confront Muslims about truth facts that are inconvenient to Muslims (e.g., Hitler and Islam), Muslims often lie (see Muslim Brotherhood), even on record and in front of other Muslims, who do not appear surprised since they also know about taqiyya (as well as kitman - the related practice of telling half-truths).

Without knowing about taqiyya, non-Muslims are liable to believe Muslims' lies, especially given the nonchalant reactions from the other Muslims around."

So  Muslims will lie through their teeth to advance the cause of Islam.  So can we believe anything that is said by any of them;  even the so called moderates??

Why does almost every thread here on this forum end up in childish and rude insults, surely at a mature age we can all be a little less like a kindergarten

Yes well said Jane

Throw bread crumbs to feed the pidgeons and you will wind up with poo - well said kfc.

Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds.
A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing.

PlanB, unfortunately we have posters who think they are being smart or funny but in fact are very boring trolls.

I have to agree Gerry - I have always been creeped out by people who laugh at their own jokes when few others can see the humour of them. I cant recall the author, but the quote "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" certainly rings true on this forum.

I think ignore is the way to go

Plan B...

Never a truer word spoken...people who troll like that are not happy people and get their daily "fix" by insulting everyone. The sooner we all realise it the better. Have to admit I do get drawn in but as you say ignoring is the best way to go.

...."drawn in" ?? ....try practicing what you preach!  lol lol lol

*IGNORE*

A very interesting article which I think many would find most enlightening:

Something wrong with that link..just type in Mary Beard if you are interested. This makes good reading also:

Thanks Fleur. The Mary Beard article is good.

"Behind the online comments: the psychology of internet trolls"

Geomac in particular gets bee lined but it appears none of us are immune to insults from our trolls.

; ))

Born in 1971, Lambie enlisted in the Australian Army in 1989, spending over ten years specializing in transport management and military policing.

She achieved the rank of corporal but at one point was charged and reduced in rank after assaulting a fellow soldier while intoxicated. During a field exercise in July 1997 she suffered injuries that resulted in severe back pain.

Over some time she worked to regain her fitness and at one point had a breast reduction procedure paid for by the military in an attempt to alleviate pain she suffered.

One day away from leaving for her first operational deployment in East Timor she discovered that due to her previous injuries she was not able to support the weight of her body armour and was eventually discharged for medical reasons in 2000.

Now on a military pension she is a senator and in a few years will be entitled to a Politican pension as well.

Gosh..the senator from "Boganland" has certainly done well for herself!

Clive is "supposedly" said to have called Jacqui "not very bright".  I find this all quite entertaining and the sequel to all this argy bagy between Clive and Jackqui will end in disaster ...eventually.

Taken from the SMH a day or so ago.

"Clive Palmer has been overheard questioning the intelligence of outspoken Palmer United Party Senator Jacqui Lambie, in a conversation with colleague Zhenya "Dio" Wang at Parliament on Tuesday, according to sources.

It comes as cracks emerge within the minor party particularly over Senator Lambie's inflBut in a bizarre twist, Senator Lambie's media adviser emailed her response to questions from Fairfax Media

Mr Palmer denied making the comments at a later media conference on Tuesday but became testy when asked for confirmation and told the journalist he thought she - the reporter - was not very bright.

The conversation took place at the parliamentary staff cafe, colloquially known as "the Trough", on Tuesday morning. It was overhead by two sources who conveyed Mr Palmer's comments to Fairfax Media. But Senator Lambie responded to Fairfax Media's inquiry with the following statement sent to the entire gallery.

"Clive couldn't have said that about me - because I was standing at the "trough" as well - and he said the same thing to me about Dio," her media adviser Rob Messenger's email said. Senator Lambie was not seen at the staff cafe on Tuesday morning according to the sources who overheard Mr Palmer's complaints.

In the email, Senator Lambie and Mr Messenger appeared to confuse the staff cafe with a toilet cubicle.

"PS Jacqui wants to know - were your sources also standing at the "trough" as well - or were they together in a cubical [sic)"

So pathetic the way our politicians go on!

Robi :)

It may just be the reflection of how the voters go on !

From what I hear and read Jaqui plans to stand as an independent in the future, so parting with the PUP except for the money should not affect her as by then she will be a household name and people will vote for her and she will have all the anti groups on her side.

I suppose that even the "lunatic fringe" are entitled to representation in Parliament :)

I've not seen monkeys in parliament yet.

Not so sure Davey - they said about politicians "if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. "

Well we have long stopped paying them peanuts in fact they are about the best paid in the world - PM gets more then Obama and Cameron put together. But then so do many of our top positions public servants judges and so on.

And does anyone really feel we ae getting the quality of politician or top bods anywhere today?

From comments when not defending their footy oops pollie team - Not many are that convinced.

Lately I think many are completely fed upo with politics as this lot in power and in Opposition are to busy strutting world stage or nitpicking on behalf of the greens and of course not Labor or Coalition own any mistakes of the recent past when brought up. labor didnt run up debt. Libs didnt promise not to cut health or education.

And so argy bargy back and forth meanwhile the economy is on the brink of collapse with companies almost as broke as Australia Inc and its broke due to them all avoiding paying taxes (companies and top earners) and only the peons on PAYE still pay a "fair percentage of their incomes" and are being shafted by all deep in the trough politicians.

Meanwhile on Seniors the arguments are back down to peurile.

Terrific effort on behalf of Radish to get a good discussion going.

And good links for those who needed to study Islam.

Because it just is not going to go quietly in assimilation .

Not even in Islamic countries is it a "peaceful" culture.

Taqiyya. Cloak of Islam calling it a "religion of peace". Far from it.

"Dar-a-harb" is the part of Islam which covers Australia UK Europe Americas etc or non Islamic countries and this is the "House of War."

Or where Muslims are still in minority.

Dar-al-Islam is the part of the planet controlled by Islam.

Meaning "House of submission" controlled by Sharia.

All of which makes up "The Ummah." See this on their forums.

There you go now you know where you fit in living here.  Bit more education on Islam. Need to read the Quran and Hadiths too but the website Radish linked has what looks like a whole education set out.

Interesting isnt it? And dangerous not to know today.

And Barry Cassidy is a pr*ck in tricking Lambie on Sharia.

She is doing her best and has very little help has not been a staffer or unionist or party hack so learning on the job.

I though that she was Barry Humpfries latest impersonation..........daughter of Norm and Edna

I think Lambe will develop into a very good senator for Tasmania . She is not polished but says a lot of what suburban people think . I may not agree with her but we need more like her.

If you thought Lambie was bad then hava look at David Leyonhjelm. He gave a speech speech entitled “Thank You For Smoking”

Some of these idiotic politicians should be locked up.

"However, Senator Leyonhjelm’s comments have come under fire from the Australian Medical Association, with vice-president Dr Stephen Parnis describing them as “misguided” and “utterly inappropriate”.

“It’s an unfortunate case that an elected member of the parliament has allowed ideology to get in the way of reality,” he said.

“That reality is that smoking kills.

“It causes long, drawn out painful deaths for thousands of Australian every year.

“Senator Leyonhjelm’s comments are misguided, utterly inappropriate and quite disappointing.

“No one complains about life-saving care when I’m in my resuscitation bay treating someone who cannot breathe because of the effect of lung cancer.

“I’m an emergency physician and I see these patients on a very regular basis.”

tnd

He was of course talking tongue in cheek and thanking the smokers for contributing 38 billion a year to other taxpayers .

In my opinion David Leyonhjelm is decidedly "odd", and I am being kind.

He is a libertarian and believes it is our right to make our own life choices . Whether this is living a gay life style and raising the risk of aids , eating an unhealthy diet and getting obese and raising the risk of diabetiies   Or drinking alcahol and raising the risk of cirosis of the liver. Or smoking and raising the risk of lung Cancer . life is not risk free and it our choice on the risks we take .

Everyone should take out health insurance to cover the additional risks they choose so as not to lay the cost onto others of their choice .

The current system of half socialised health insurance is unfair to those who choose less risks.

He is a fool

Well it is your choice to prefer to have other people tell you what you can and can't do and to subsidise your life choices .

DL is no fool and is a very successful business man and a public intellectual .I have joined the same party  that he represents in the Senate and fully support the majority of the parties views but not all.

I also think that Lambe will develop into a good senator for Tasmania and be there long after Palmer disappears.

you are correct Radish  :)

Read that he only got in by "Donkey Votes" seems an apt description for an Ass like him.

Is that a critque of the senate form of voting. Viv, or your personal view of DL.

Also by people misunderstanding "Liberal" in LDP.

Surprised you need to ask Pete, I consider him an ASS and his Libertarian policies to be selfish.

Robi shades of Liberal policies there but no doubt people were confused by the name.

How do you know that Robi?
