30,000 march in Melbourne re climate change

Climate change protests were held all over Australia today re climate change. 30,000 marched in Melbourne.

It is a scandal that we have a government that denies Climate Change. And has done away with a Science ministry and cut funding to institutions such as the CSIRO.

Hey Pete :)

What happened to you ? Thought we had a dinner date after the next march ??

Here I am waiting for you and no Pete ???

I come back here only to find you proposing to two other women ???

It's a matter of comparability . I was overwhelmed to find two intelligent ladies with such wise views.,,

Is Suze not intelligent ?

What Blondie ?

I do have other qualities :)

Yes and I appreciate both of them..

Twila

The fervour of those embracing anthropomorphic climate change is akin to a religion, with disbelievers damned as destined to a firey place.

It has all the hysteria of witchhunts as seen in the middle age.

Straight out of the sceptics/big business handbook. Except maybe in the USA most scientists I reckon would lean to atheism. I have no idea by the way just speculating. I was going to put up articles and so on to counter your stuff but its a waste of time although the research was rich. Trouble is any research either way is rich in quantity but muddied by quality and think tanks. Curious term that , think tanks. Oxymoron ?

geomac,

I wasn't inferring that those who espouse anthropomorphic climate change were religious, only that the fervour presenting their message is.  They do not countenance any who disagree with them.

As this forum is one for discussion/debate, any articles to counter what has been written would be welcome.  Which topic do you have counter information about?

Greenland?

Funding by oil interest in think tanks and the like , Koch brothers etc etc. I post some stuff and then you post some stuff and then I post some stuff and the only ones who read them will be us two. The rest will scroll down or just read the first sentence or two and dash of a response. Time is too short. I am coming up to 3000 games on my Scrabble computer game and have ignored my German talk now CD for too long.

Curiouser and curiouser

bumper and bumper

For 50 years I have grown fruit at Bunbartha, north of Shepparton. A couple of years ago, though, after years of drought, and after spending the better part of my life farming, I had to bulldoze my 10,000 peach trees. As painful as that decision was for me and the family, it's not an uncommon story as global warming has hit plenty more growers like me. But because of the farm, I was on the board of SPC and a handful of others. As such, I'm all too aware of the brand damage Australia's doing to its signal "clean, green" reputation by winding back action on climate change. I'm deeply concerned about the financial impacts that's having in some of our key markets.

What action do you suggest ..

Ever heard of crop rotation

Frost is the biggest enemy of fruit growers .,

There is a murder of crows so what is the term for a duo of tools err fools ? Why bag a farmer/board member who actually experiences and relates the conditions that are happening ? Armchair warriors and now desktop farmers and no sweat , risk or labour required. One liners dont require much intellect either.

I was wondering what action you would suggest to stop climate change ?

stop the climate.

or stop change.

Dunno Geomac has said that the farmer has suffered from winding back of action on climate change . I was wondering what action he would like to see..

Gee Pete.

You and I know Geoff has no answers. Only whinges.

And it's all Tony's the USA's and Israels fault

Dunno Geomac has said that the farmer has suffered from winding back

Bad habits hard to break eh ? I never said the farm suffered anything.

The bobbsy twins in tandem , Zig and Zag ? Ah Abbott and Costello lol

Well what action do you suggest so that the farmer did not have to bulldoze 10,000 trees..,

Questions again. You do tread the same path again and again dont you old boy ? The trees are already gone and any action to be of use would have to have been done decades ago not today. Thats if the action was useful or not quite so useful as direct action.

You like your questions pete dont you yet for answers you cut and paste. All the rest is one liners or snarky remarks. What was that airy fairy thread you had quite some time ago ? I was trying to think of it but the title escapes me. Human intellect expanding or computer brains and no body needed or have I got it wrong. Atheism probably saved you from becoming a Scientologist.

So what was the point of your post old boy..?

geomac,

No-one is denying climate change.

But what have governments been doing?  Spending $billions on trying to establish that it is due to man.  And what has this achieved ...?

The last government spent some $19million on advertising.  What use was that?

Governments should have spent the $billions on assisting communities that would be  badly hit ... such as low-lying areas... and other communities such as farmers who will need to know how to adapt, and what new produce they will need to grow.  There are a whole range of initiiatives that should be introduced.

Climate change will bring with it a raft of disasters unless governments act.

I think history will look very unkindly on this period.

.......

Clean air and pollution is an entirely different issue to climate change and should also be urgently addressed.  Again, what have governments actually done?

Fair comment

Geomac I think there is hope . That is the nicest thing I have heard you say ...I admire a person and I am sure Fleure will back me to say ,. I am still learning ..

Climate change and pollution are intertwined.. Forget the politics and listen to scientists. Of course the coal miners want you to believe climate change is false. It is in their commercial interest to do that.

If you believe 97% of climate scientists are wrong then I cannot help you.

"I cannot help you"

HahahahahahshaaaAAAAAAGAGAGA

What a stupid statement from an arrogant moron

Pleas mate, don't help me, I beg you. Do t ever want to get down to your mental (dis)ability

Gerry why don't you follow Geomacs lead and say just on one issue " fair comment" to show that we all can learn something from each other..,

Is that the new symbol for global warming?
